Its different per phone. Its created based on your ESN.

You don't need your MSL to do a manual PRL update. Just go into your Windows folder on your device and look for the current prl file. It will start with 202xx something. Just copy the new PRL file from colorada into the Windows folder on your device, delete the old PRL file, rename the new PRL file with the same name as the old one you deleted and then click on the PPST.exe program in that is also in the Windows directory.

The PRL update will happen quite quickly and you will most likley not get an confirmation on screen. Just wait a minute and the soft reset your device (Stick the stylus in the hole on the bottom of the phone).

You can confirm the update by going into settings and clicking on Device Information. No need for an MSL at all or to call and fool around with Sprint customer service.

Ok, my EPST says that my PRL is 20227. However, I cannot find the darn file anywhere in the windows directory. Am I stuck with going through customer service? On that not, is there anyway to turn on the filename extensions so I can see what files are what?

Thanks.

EDIT: Im on a Mogul... Does it even need the PRL update?

hello,
any reason the prl file and ppst file would not show up in the windows folder? my wife and i have the sprint ppc 6700 and it was there on mine and i updated it no problem, but when i look in her windows folder, neither file is there. she is running the original sprint rom (as was i at the time). i called in to c.s. for the ota update and it did, but those files still are not in her windows folder?? any thoughts on this? thanks for any help you can provide.

When you run EPST to update your PRL, it should automatically find it for you when you click browse. (Or at least it does on my apache and I had the PRL file saved to my storage card.)

If you need your MSL # try using GetSPC (you enter your ESN and it spits out your MSL)

Hope this information was useful

i did the prl update... I have wm6 with the 1.4 radio. The little antenna has the sign beside it like the phone\'s not getting any reception, but it seems to work fine. Before I was getting dropped calls like crazy, let\'s see if this fixes it
