I was only having this problem because the file system on my card was hosed. It works fine now that i reformatted. I have WM6 and WM5torage on with a 512 non-SDHC and it works fine. I even plugi t into my JVC car radio's usb port and play mp3s off of it. I just got a 4gb SDHC class 4 transcend card, but I haven't tried it yet with my JVC unit

My Transcend 4GB SDHC miniSD won't be recognized if I take it out of the slot - must be something with the device or services loading incorrectly. I've had all the files disappear from view - though some still worked even though they didn't show up - twice in the last week and a half. No problems with WM5 storage - used that to get WinXP to do a scan disk - should've used pocket mechanic instead, now I've got a bunch of chk files that I'd have to check individually.
First loss was after just popping it in and not doing any formatting. After formatting it was more stable, but still died sometime today. It may be a brand problem (my 6700 hates PQI miniSDs - even 2GB). BTW - using Helmi's WM6. |

Yes, I KNOW that I posed this missive in another location, but - then I noticed this thread was better suited to the topic. Considering the subject, I thought I was the only one suffering from what I thought was something that I might have done. Either way, I'm sure you'll agree... This one is a real stumper!
I had my 2 Gig MiniSD San Disk in the port at the top of my Verizon Wireless VX6700... and it was LOADED with priceless bits of information, you know... photos I hadn't uploaded or copied to the desktop - yet; music files I always keep handy; video files of favorite movies, TV shows, and family; ring tones; numerous data files and proprietary programs for work - that I chose NOT to install on the PDA's main memory (for fear of losing them...!). Here I was thinking that all I had to do was to install the latest WM6 ROM - compliments of the Good Gentlemen from this site - and I was back in business (save but for a few re-installations by way of ActiveSync*). Oh, not so Grasshopper! The installation and following reboot were without issue and the device loaded fine. Simple modifications to the main screen were made, and as I was selecting the photo for the background... I... uhn... wait a minute...! What the f**k...?!? Where the HELL did ALL of my photos go... and my audio files - where ARE they...? Not just one of 'em, but the whole freekin' lot of 'em... GONE! And - not just them, either! Whole bunches of files AND programs! This has never happened before... when I've uploaded and burned the latest Kitchen-of-the-month... I've ALWAYS left my storage card in the device, and never attempted to remove it. (I do throw a layer of tape over, to prevent any unfortunate pre-ejac... er, uhn... accidental releasing of the card). Okay, just for shits and giggles, I'm admittedly a sucker for punishment (it's not enough that I occupationally choose to run into burning buildings or get someone else's uninvited bodily fluids all over me...) I RE-install and flash the latest WM6 kitchen (from VerizonGuy) and after booting - I discover that even MORE files are now missing... even some that I only minutes before uploaded to the drive! What the...??? I can't even click and drag - or copy and paste a selected file.. but, I CAN others...! What gives?! Evidently, the road to wisdom is filled with many a pothole, and this is one of them, or so it seems. Am I alone on this path..?! Can I be the only one lost in the darkness...?? Helloooo...?! Is ANYONE monitoring this channel...?! Mayday! Mayday! Octoberfest, even...!! *I've addressed a sudden issue regarding ActiveSync 4.5 that has also cropped up - in another posted thread. Anyone out there....?!?!

Sounds to me like your card is corrupt. It happens from time to time, especially if you interrupt a write cycle. You could try putting it in a card reader and accessing it through a desktop. You will probably get the same result but it is worth a shot. Good luck.
PS - you never think you need to backup your data until you're in this situation. |

6gb Sandisk works great
I have the Sandisk 6gb Microsdhc card and it works fine with WM6 and the SDHC drivers. On a side note, WM5Storage works fine also.
