Alltel ppc6700 Users here - Page 6

thanks ksg for all but that ROM says the same "ERROR 120 ROM is not for this phone" I have checked the device name and changed it from ppc-6700,ppc6700,xv-6700,xv6700 but keep getting the same error. I like your WM6 ROM but it still has some bugs, dont know if you are still working on it, the media player skips and it wont play from my storage card enless I go to the storage card first. It also drains the battery quick. thanks though I like the rest of the features.

i sent my phone to utstarcom to get it fixed from my radio issue. works fine now except for the data. i can not connect to the internet. i can make and receive phone calls but no data. when i try to connect it says "username and/ or password incorrect" i called alltel and got the right username/ password but it still doesnt work. what gives????

I've got a problem with my Alltel 6700 always roaming. Is there any ideas on how to fix this? I'm running the old Radio, I think it's 1.1 or something like that. I'm going to try the radio update, but anyone else have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have the same roaming issue but I am in a roaming area 99% of the time. When I do go to a non-roaming area I still have a non-flashing triangle at the top of my screen. It doesn't seem to be a issue with being charged for roaming though. I am also having problems with my evdo connection while roaming on sprint. It seems to stop working after about twenty minutes but still acts like it is connected. I have to manually reset the connection to get it to work again.

I just went through that with Data Services with Alltel.. from dialer (##000000 ) make sure the 3 settings are correct with a Alltel Data Tech for your account.

Also in ##778 make sure all the profiles have your correct Phonenumber.

This is correct. The info in that ##000000 screen is always wrong. For some reason only some of the techs know this.

Just FYI, I updated the .prl file to the correctly used one now (#3000

and it took my phone off of roaming. Worked great, I also updated the radio to 1.43 and saw more bars available. There is a main thread discussion about roaming, and that is where I got help for this. Also, if you search on the Internet for prl's, you can download them and put them on your phone in My Documents. After that, just access the ##778 and choose the PRL section and you can update the file from there. It worked great! I'm not a wizz at this stuff, so I can't explain too in depth. Good Luck!

Actually, PRL 30008 is very old. There is a version 30029 out now for normal phones, and 40029 for smart cards. I actually am using the newest 40029 on my Apache 6700. I luv it! Has Sprint Roaming on it. Better signal, and more EVDO....

Best way to update PRL is ##775, not ##778. ##775 is actually ##PRL.
