OMG....SOLVED !!!!
Well I kept going through the same steps over and over again without success, then I tried something new...
Over at the xda website, someone mentioned that the battery needed to be fully charged, so I took the battery out of the phone and charged it (probably this is NOT what made the difference) I then went to the device manager menu and uninstalled the PPC, then reinstalled it [incidentally, there WAS a yellow arrow here. I had forgotten that the latest few times, I was consistently getting a error on the install after found new hardware came up when I plugged in my device. THis time, the hardware was installed successfully.] used uni_exit bootloader without incident and my device was restored. HALLELUJAH!!! I have a phone again....time to flash the ROM... Saridnour is working on an update for his as we speak, so I'm going to try the 1.04 kitchen and see what happens...... Thanks everyone for ALL the thoughtful advice.

Thanks for everyone's help
rbeaufor you are the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had spent hours upon hours trying to un-brick my phone. I had the exact same thing as you. I had tried everything. But device manager is what did it. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING.
By the way were you ever able to add new ROM? |

rhblmhb,
glad at least one person benefitted from the post. I haven't loaded a ROM back yet because I'm in the process of cooking my own using Helmi's 1.04. Work obligations make me a little slow cooking things up. I've never done this either, so there is a learning curve in that respect again, glad you are un-bricked |

Vista
I was in the exact same boat except on a Vista machine. I tried all the things discussed here and nothing worked including the device manager trick. Finally, I moved Uni_ExitBootloader to an XP machine, ran it, worked, updated the ROM and am a happy camper once again.
Just wanted to share. |

was searching threads on vista problems and read that right clicking on the .exe for the program and go to the 'Compatability' tab. In there, select to run as Administrator and run in Windows XP or 2000 compatability mode. might work havent tried yet.
Also read other option is to run XP with vista on same comp, so Im looking more into that. Vista is like a woman, beautiful dam pain in @ss. Hate haviin 2 use 2 laptops for my kitchen stuff. |
