Yes, I have done 8228, a few times. Option 2 to update the towers and Option 3 to actually activate it. I also did ##000000 when I first received the phone. No obvious questions, you were helping me out, I appreciate it. But yes, did that, thanks for asking.
I would take it to Sprint, but I'm scared they will say because my account and the phone are both Alltel, they will turn me away. I've noticed new things today. I receive and send text messages perfectly when I'm in the middle of a call. I received a few incoming calls today, but they were RIGHT after I had hung up with those people, or again, in another call. Right now I'm cross checking (between my old and new 6700) the ##778 settings. Any suggestions, questions, and comments would be awesome, Thanks for helping so far! And since I'm more and more convinced that it is software/network, and NOT hardware, I think someone can help if we/I can't fiqure this out! Thanks! |

Well, the only thing that has worked for me in the past where i was having an issue that no one else was having, was flashing to the stock rom, hardresetting, going through ALL of the activation features, then flashing to the latest kitchen rom, and doing NONE of the activation features.
Also, I doubt that this will work if you havent done it already, but try switching radios. Upgrade/downgrade just to see what happens? How did the EPST checking go? All settings the same? Oh, and I think what Karmashock meant was Alltel (even though your response was hilarious!). Just take it to Alltel and claim its your original phone and see if they can do anything? Do they know you have switched phones? If not, ESN could be the whole problem? |

EPST settings were the same from the Old to the New.
I'm going back to the stock ROM, 2.11 I think, and might either take it to Alltel today, or do what you suggested which was activate it on the stock ROM, then upgrade the ROM. One thing the the EPST showed that I found was intresting, was what time the phone was first purchased, or activated, or whatever, along with the warranty info, which says I'm good until I think November of this year. Do you think its possible, with the warranty the way it is, to talk to Alltel and replace it, if they can't fix it that is. My main concern would be that because I didn't buy it, they couldn't replace it for me. Ya know? Any thoughts on any of this? Anyone? Thanks for ya'lls help so far, Its nice to know there are people out there who will spend a little free time fixing a perfect strangers phone! |

On the old phone the MSID number is the same in both the ##778 AND ##000000
BUT! In the new phone, the MSID number is my phone number in ##778 the MSID number is 0000000000 in ##000000 why is this? I think this is the issue! however, when I goto change the MSID number in the ##000000, and it resets, it goes BACK to 0000000000 why won't this save in ##000000, and why isn't it correcting itself, since other parts of the phone knows the correct MSID # any thoughts? btw, Alltel, NO HELP, she was a moron! Which is sad, because they usually are so helpful... what is the world coming to?!? |

"Perfect" stranger? Kinda egotistical...
Yeah, im not sure about the warranty thing, but its most likely for UTSarcoms use, rather than alltel. And even so, it all depends on whether they know that you have switched phones. If you have told them, then they most likely wont be willing to help, but if they dont know then you could probably try it, but they may discover that your ESN is different (which could be the whole problem anyways). But i would give the stock flash then kitchen flash a shot. It cant hurt. Just remember to stock flash before (if) you take it to alltel. |

Btw, I just checked ##000000 and my MSID is 10 zeros as well, so thats prob not the issue.
But what about the MDN and HomeSID/NID? The same as EPST? |
