how often is everyone flashing their rom?

I've been kind of surprised how often some people say they flash their 6700... many have said they do it once a day or more... and I don't see why you would do that... further, if anything wouldn't it damage the phone more then anything? after all the ROM can only be written to so many times... sure, maybe it's 100,000 times or something but flashing it every day has to eat into that.

What are you trying to accomplish by flashing it so often? Trying new things? Tweaking settings?

I just don't get it. I've flashed my rom exactly 1 times... and the only reason I could see to flash it again so far would be to remove some of the things I tried... just to get maybe 5MBs of space back... But that's it.

ROM Lovers do this (myself included) can't help it man, it's a disease. However you want to look at it, we won't stop flashing our ROM. If you don't got that love for ROM, then you won't understand.

I used to flash almost once daily, but kind of busy lately so no more flashing daily. Once I found a new app I really like I want to added to the collection and flash, or when there's an update or some'n. Also, I tried to flash whenever there's a new Kitchen is out.

Well, then I guess I'll flash my ROM until I need glasses...

I flash every time I find a rom that promises to fix long standing nasty issues.

and then I flash again after finding the rom F*&KS up something else.

I think I have come to the realization that the Apache and WM5 are a POS and I can only hope that the OEMs release a stable device / ROM some time in the future.

I love everything it does, it however does none of it reliably!

I went from the orginal to Kirvin's 3.5... and used that for a LONG time. Then the 1.04 kitchen came out and everyone says the drivers are alot more stable in that build (3.3.1 bell) so I decided to try it my self. I read a bit of the help document, loaded up the software, and made a nice little Clean and Simple for Sprint.

I have to say, this 1.04 is great. I have had NO lockups. It is running unbelievably perfect.

I try to only flash when something BIG changes.

I flashed the 1.03 kitchen the day before 1.04 was released and everything seems screwed.

I am going to flash 1.04 tonight, but some of the bug list for 1.04 looks bad as well.

I used to flash a few times a week. Since I loaded 1.0.4 though, I really don't need to. It's fun seeing what else I can make it do, but this is a great build.

I got my phone back in Dec 06. I used the upgrade from Sprint shortly afterwards and the ROM lasted me until about May when i discovered this forum. Since then I try about every release for a week. So far i have reflashed every week until i found the Helmi 1.0.1 release. which lasted about 2 weeks until 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 came out. I am all about performance and productivity with this phone. And with each release it (sometimes ie 1.0.3) gets better and better.
