XV6700 will not sync! Please Help!!! - Page 2

Sorry guys, I should have mentioned it can be old. That, and I have to have a slide out QWERTY and WiFi. Oh and I dont plan to use it as a phone, just a pocket PC. Would it be OK to get another XV6700...

Mogul? Which model? Sprint right; 6700 6800 (was the one I was about to get)?

On ebay the Touch is going for 300 to 500! I cant pay that?

Oh, if you're gonna use it just as a PDA. Get the Sprint Touch Pro. It is the best. See, people were using Sprint Touch Pros on Verizon's network till last week they found the loophole. So that's why I was saying you would need to get a Verizon Pro, which is garabge. But, if you can't afford it, then yeah, find another 6700...

Thanks for your help! I will most likely stick to the 6700 PDA. I keep getting out bid on eBay though

Guess Ill see if there are some for sale threads here.

EDIT: Just bought a digitizer for $10. Gonna see if that will get me past the align screen ad see if I can set her to accept USB (change the setting you were recommending before).

Ah, Im coming back to this thread a bit late. Other more pressing forums have kept me busy but sry to see the same chit for everyone else didnt work for you and sorry to hear your device is the issue but there always is that possibility. You were bashed in the beginning because newbs never read or search. With there being a dozen threads on the same issue with all the same answers and resolutions, your also would have been in there. Im there are only so many things that can go wrong. Its just like drawing a flow chart. You can only go so many different ways before you get to the end.

One question though. Did you try to hard reset and reflash the device because I didnt see where you had tried this (although I may have looked over it)?

I also agree if you are coming from a 6700 then to skip over the 6800 and get the 6850.

I did a hard reset many times. By reflash you mean a new ROM right? I cant do that if I cant sync

Didnt know about the 6850. Still trying to find out about all the PPCs that match what I want. Going to look into that one. Thanks

No no no. Flashing does not require syncing. Put the thing in bootloader and flash. PLEASE, for God's sake search. That has been pointed out so many times.

Then why do the write ups say you do?!?!?! If you expect me to search and read, then dont bash me for trying to follow the directions. On a side note; a lot of a posts that come up with the keyword flash, just has someone saying SEARCH...

I just noticed the one in your sig (which didnt come up in search) and thats what Ill be trying when I get home.

Hmm, I have not seing a guide for flashing a ROM saying to be connected to ActiveSync for flashing... Only for unlocking, but that's not even for Apache... Try mine. It should work...

Tried and tried to no avail... Always says check your USB connection. Seem Windows doesnt know what the hell it is... Thats usually an issue with the device (If Windows already has the driver)... No fun

Yeah you dont need to sync to flash. You need to be in BootLoader mode to flash. That is the screen that the backlight is not lit up on and says Serial if not connected to the PC or says USB if it is connected to the PC. Some ROMs do have you be synced first because they kick you off of ActiveSync and put you in BL mode on its own while others do not and need you to be in BL mode first. Hope this helps.

Your carrier is VZW right? What BL version are you using?

PDA, if he is low enough lets get him Kirvins to try since you dont need to be synched with it so he can tell if it is OS related in his ROM or hardware failure.
