Yeah you dont need to sync to flash. You need to be in BootLoader mode to flash. That is the screen that the backlight is not lit up on and says Serial if not connected to the PC or says USB if it is connected to the PC. Some ROMs do have you be synced first because they kick you off of ActiveSync and put you in BL mode on its own while others do not and need you to be in BL mode first. Hope this helps.

Your carrier is VZW right? What BL version are you using?

PDA, if he is low enough lets get him Kirvins to try since you dont need to be synched with it so he can tell if it is OS related in his ROM or hardware failure.
