Re: lost touch sensitivity in the center of screen
Well if you did put insurance on it I bet you are thanking yourself now. However, filing a claim may get you another 6700 or it may get you a 6800. It just depends on who you speak with and what they have.
Either way, with this unit here I think you already know you sustained some damage after you dropped it. If a hard reset does not resolve it then you may look into replacing the screen digitizer with one off ebay. Those headphone jacks are a known issue with the pins getting stuck from plugging and unplugging headphones and not allowing sound to come out of the main speaker after they have been unplugged. The pins inside get stuck and the device thinks there are still headphones plugged in. So jusy FYI on that one.

Has anyone else found the 6800 to be slower than the 6700? |

When I got my Mogul I found it to be a lot better than my Verizon Apache/XV6700. The 6700 was just too bulky. The difference between WM5 and WM6.1 was minimal, but 6.1 contained several additional features that WM5 didn't support. While I didn't experience any performance drop, the lack of RAM is pretty annoying as I had to pretty much close a lot of applications after I used them. Since I got my TP I've hadn't had an issue with RAM anymore. So if you're on Sprint, you're probably in luck, the 6700 is a really old phone and has been discontinued wayyy long ago. |

Re: lost touch sensitivity in the center of screen
the sprint TEP is upgrading me to a 6800.
TEN THINGS IM GOING TO MISS FROM A 6700 -large stylus -extra large talk/end buttons -extra large qwerty keyboard -keyboard which slides out with the left hand (right handed functionality) -non spring loaded keyboard (seriously) -smooth spb mobile 3d transitions (transitions on a mogul are noticeably choppier when compared side by side) -a screen which does not over burn -more available ram running wm5 -low profile task bar -sleep/power button on top left for the exception of the stylus location, the mogul appeals to left handed users Last edited by NIKOKAPS; 03-23-2009 at 02:40 AM. |

Re: lost touch sensitivity in the center of screen
Congrats, although a FEW things are different, you will get used to it and love it as an overall device more than the 6700
the stylus are the same, the one for the 68 simply is telescopic this is something you will get used to again, this is something you will ge used to Quote:
after a year with the 6800, my keyboard still snaps open and closed. Nothing to worry about there. Quote:
This should not be an issue either. Again, depending on how your ROM is built this should not be an issue. On mine and after bootup I will have 22mb free. This can be done with editing of the registry or using certain 3rd party apps (which simply are a GUI and makes reg edits behind the scenes for you) again, something you will get used to. Its not that big of an issue Quote:
Seriously though, I used the 67 with no issues and the 68 has been no different. You will like it with a custom ROM and GPS as well as Google Maps/Latitude. Having come from a 67 to a 68, you could not give me a 67 to replace my 68. |
