Upgraded for 1.16 to this on a MIdwest Wireless phone now running on the Alltel network now that Alltel is missing a billion dollars. Running great. Seems to respond faster and much better signal. Thanks man!!!=D>

Alright...almost 24hrs have gone by since I did this upgrade to 1.41 on my 6700. Nothing adverse. The only thing that I notice is that I stay in roam longer when I come back into my home network. Normally it flips over at a certain mile marker. And the PRL udate was done at the same time the update was done. Will be going to a fringe area later this week.....will advise.

- radio switches off randomly once every few hours - radio turned off once when I hung up a call - battery like is BAD (I think radio ends up in a crazy bad state - burning up current) I'm flashing back to stock 1.10 rom. If you want the factory stock rom, download the original factory rom from UTStar's website, open the APA*.exe using Winrar (maybe winzip too?). Extract the \OutputFile\radio_.nbf. This is your 1.10 radio ROM. Then I used the same package phoenix has (1st post in this thread) and overwrote THAT radio_. nbf with the UTStar version and ran the program as usual. Finally, where can I get the 1.27 Radio rom? Does anyone have a feature list / bug list of the radio ROM as we go from 1.10->1.27 -> 1.41? |

Radio works flawlessly, however...let me restate DO NOT USE VISTA to do this update. I tried and tried with Vista an always a no go. Did the update on my XP machine and it went like butter. You do not have to have activesync installed (I didn't).
Thanks for the hard work Phoenx and thank you PPCGEEKS for allowing such brilliant people to shine(_._)(_._) |

Just tried my Sprint PPC 6700
Holy Crap,
I just flashed this 1.41 upgrade (was originally on 1.27). I must say very impressed. I'm sure my signal strength bar is broken now, because its MAXXED out baby. No problems with the upload, went very smooth, no modem re-programming needed. Everything worked as soon as I finished soft resetting it. Data calls are still interupted if someone tries to call you, which is excellent. Very happy with this update indeed. Thank you for providing it. Anthony |
