Reg: DeviceLock. If you don't select the Device Lock option from the BuildOS, there will still be a device lock today plugin. That plugin is built into the OS. Now I am not sure if the device lock optional app using that plugin. If you want to remove the today plugin, you would need to go into the SYS folder and hunt it down. A real pain but maybe worth it. I am going to try it anyway and I will keep posted.

Reg cabs: The OEM installers are all pre-unpacked, that is they are all files going into the \Windows\ folder, and from there get copied over to wherever using the initflashfiles.txt info. So, I don't think you can just drop a cab file inside the OEM and expect to get it installed automatically during a hard reset. The only other way I think is using the Extended_ROM installation process. Unlock the extended rom and add your cab files there. !!! WARNING !!! The info in the extended rom, if erased is permanent. Take backups. Oh, BTW, I am not responsible for anything... blah blah blah...

-The "dogbark" sound is installed twice, once in "my sounds" once in "my music". I kind of wish it wasn't installed at all. I think I'm going to be looking into the provxml files to see it I can't work out an OEM to remove such things.

-The new ComManager is missing the options menus, similar to Helmi's first posting of it. Was this never upgraded to the revised version?

-When I first load IE the "Favorites" and "History" bars are missing the middle graphic, and are flat gray instead of textured. Clicking either bar seems to resolve the issue.

I think this sort of thing is now possible using the provxml files. Looking through the ones in the "Optional_Verizon_Settings" OEM seems to show how to delete files. From "mxipcold_oemoperators_100.provxml"...

I am talking about deleting in the kitchen itself and not in the device. You have to delete before the build process.

That's just it, I don't think you "have to".

I'm saying that it might be better to create a "remove component" OEM, rather than modifying the original Kitchen/OEM packages. That way there is less need to reapply those changes when something is updated.

The new comm manager is fixed and working in the kitchen.

To remove or change things, setup a customize OEM that has an rgu that loads last. Then set the necessary reg entries to disable the Today plugins that are showing.

New comm manager is fixed for me in R1, so is the issue with the IE home page (though that may have actually been from me poking at the theme packages).

Now that the OEM order is represented in BuildOS, having a better understanding of how things are ordered would be nice. Can you provide any more detail on how to make an OEM "load last"? I believe one needs to prefix the OEM folder with "z"'s, is the order purely the alphabetical folder order?

Would be good to document
- how to control processing order of OEMs
- how to make an OEM that removes stuff (files, reg entries, whatever) before the ROM is burned

Then the kitchen itself stays clean
