You need to unlock your phone so that the registry editor works. If you do not, you wont be able to make any registry changes.

Search for unlocking the registry in the forum and you will find the steps needed. It is a few registry edits that can be completed in Total Commander.

Once you do this, the software you are trying to use is meant to be used on your laptop/destop. Then follow the detailed steps mentioned in the other post and your mms will work fine

That's not true.

There is no unlocking needed to make changes to the registry of our phones. I have been making reg changes to my phone from day one with nothing unlocked.

@Ryche316,

PHMregedit should work fine as long as it is installed correctly. From what I got in an earlier answer from you it is not being installed right. PLease find the cab file as suggested n another post you are in and see if that helps. If not get Total Commander. Another free program that has a reg editor in it and see if you can get it installed.

When I installed Kirvin's Clean and Simple and attempted to use the registry editor it would not work. I had to make a few simple changes to the registry in order for the error message to stop popping up.

I like total commander for quick changes, but it is horrible if you need to make a lot of changes and want to do it through your laptop/desktop.

Total Commander did not need any registry changes in order to work, the other laptop/desktop registry editor did. It is a safety feature built into the registry so changes can not be made with the laptop/desktop that are accidental.

If you didn't have that problem thats great, just saying I did, and it sounds like he is having the same problems I did.

FINALLY GOT IT !!!!!! Thank You to EVERYONE !!!!!!!!
I finally found a registry editor that worked on my phone. I made the necessary setting corrections in the connections tab and the MMS connection tab. Then set the registry values to the " Verizon MMS Detailed" posting. And it worked .

Thank You again to everyone that has posted replies. PPC is better than verizon support !!!!!!

Here's a weird problem now. The MMS is working fine now.I'm setting all of my rings and notification tones, the stock ROM 3.5 ring tones are not showing up for the phone ringer. All of the other settings are OK just the tones for the phone ringer. I looked through the ringers,tones,sounds,windows files and don't see the missing ringers. Has anyone had this happen? Can anyone post the stock ring sounds?

Scratch the ringtone post. I found the stock ring tones and was able to install it. Still don't know what happened. I thought it came with the rom update. I guess it still was linked with the Verizon custom install.
