Bounty for Clean and Simple AKU3.5 ROM with Goodlink working

Been reading this ROM that has fixes for BB and Goodlink to work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305940

Apparently you must update this before you cook it?! Cause I made the changes in Regedit and it didn't work, so need someone with a cooker to make the changes there.

Official Details:
Build: 17743.0.2.3
Kernel (CE): 5.2.1238

HEX Edited above to: 5.1.195 (17743.2.3.0)
This enables BBconnect and Goodlink compatability

I will start it off a bounty for a Clean and Simple ROM that will get Goodlink to work. I'll toss in $50.00 to start! Any takers!?

Well, you already have that CE version of 5.1.195. The first part of the build number (17743) would have to be replaced with a hex edit. But, it appears in that thread that he just changed the last portion which is the AKU version. This is simply a reg edit.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\VERSIONS]
"Aku"=".2.3.0"

I did notice that there are two different numbers in the thread. Maybe it is worth trying the reg entry to see if that is it.

I more interested in Goodlink and the version I use at the office is the latest 4.9.3 which came out in February with the DST fixes.

Are you going to take this on?

In the meantime, I have a spare phone I will try the AKU hack on. I know I tried this before but not with .2.3.0!

I am not against trying to get this to work. Like I said before, it is very difficult to test without being able to actually run the app. Is there any sort of way for me to set up a trial to do testing? I assume not since I know it syncs up, but it would be a start.

Yeah, we probably have to change it to (17743.2.3.0) cause I have my AKU3.5 showing (15698.2.3.0) and that isn't working.

The general error message is:
Good messaging is not supoorted for the carrier Sprint PCS..

Contact your IT administrator.

Now sure why it complains about Sprint PCS but that's the problem, it won't go online to finish the install.

Somthing else I have come across:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=125

Do you know if Goodlink functions in the same way?

The thing I don't get is that it is working for other people right? Weren't there other people in the other thread you had that said that it did work with 3.5 roms?

I can't find anyone that claims to have it working using all the various hacks out there.

I can give you the info on how to try and log onto my Goodlink server with an acct I can make specially for you. Its just a workign test server, so there is nothing of importance on there. Would you like me to set you up with an account? Would you be able to test that way?

Thanks!

Absolutely. That probably would be the best way for me to see what is going on.
