Is it or not? Why the (?) on your statement?

If it IS working, did you do anything out of the usual to get it to work? Also, what version of Goodlink are you running?

Thanks!

aughsum, can you give me all of the details? I need the info from Start\Settings\system\About such as the OS and Build. I also need to know what version of Goodlink you are using and what the Device Info and other info is when you are doing the connect/setup. Thanks.

I tried out Saridnour's rom (Pr6) and it did not work. I was not able to complete setup. I did go back to 2.2 so I could see what I was looking for. I have an idea now as to the problem and might be able to find it.

Yes, I see in my Good Console that your devices ESN number connected today. Let me know if you want me to delete it so you can try to connect again on what you may think is the cure. That way we know the Good Server is happy with your new ESN.

It shows the PPC Version from 2.2 as:
Handheld OS Version 5.1,bld=PPC.195 If that helps any?

Thanks for taking the time!

Well, here is what I have found so far. During setup from 2.2, where you are entering your email and pin, you can go to menu\device information. Next to Serial # it should say ESN..(your ESN).... However, with the 3.5 rom, if you check the same settings, it will show IMSI....(a number including your phone number)... The IMSI is a GSM version of the ESN.

So, either the phone is returning this info due to a remnant still in the rom from the GSM version the rom was ported from or the setup process thinks the phone should be GSM and finds the info where the normal IMSI is stored.

One other question, do you go to http://get.good.com every time, or do you save the cab and run it for install? The reason I ask I because I am trying to determine where and why the phone is identifying itself as a GSM device.

Can you post your cab from 2.2 so I don't have to flash back to get it?

Interesting angle! Here is the cab file and yes, I always go to get.good.com to get the cab file so that I get the latest one, which might be the wrong one Here is the file:

Cheers!

Colonel,

I run the cab file from the first time I go to Get Good. As you may already be aware, from the ROM form, I have the same exact problem as dmackdaddy. Other than this issue, the ROM works great.

Yep, I see the IMSI number as well with one of the other phones I test with that I run AKU3.5 on. This is probably the issue but from my test, installing the .cab file I got from AKU2.2 doesn't matter. We need to figure out how to get the phone to use a CDMA ESN to ID the phone.

Colonel is onto something for sure!
