I just noticed something. The instructions says to go into the following reg key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\De vice\nnnnnnnnnnnn

However, on mine it shows as

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\De vice\nnnnnnnnnnnn

is cap SOFTWARE the reason why I get the IO Error? If yes, how do I fix this?

Thanks

I think you are missing something... each device number will be different... please if u want this to work... delete ALL bluetooth pairings on your phone then follow the instructions for pairing the watch!
after that the only device in your reg will be the watch... the device number wont match the instructions number because it isn't the same watch and phone pairing... then follow all the directions!

allenpu:
1. Download latest version of smartWatchM
2. Open BT manager (or edit registry) and change incoming port to different COM number
3. Restart your device
4. Open smartWatchM and select COM port you created in step 2
5. Start connection and see if it works or not
6. If you are getting the same error, start again from step 2. Some ports may probably be locked and cant be used.

allenpu: My paypal donate button is here http://www.smartmadsoft.com/contact.html I really appreciate this. Since I spent so many hours with the application. But this is just my pastime, my hobby.

EDIT: Thank you very much

Hello Allenpu,

I also found trouble using the COM 5 and COM 6 ports, could you please share us you findings. Which ports do you currently use for Outgoing and Incomming communications. And (couldn't find it in the 8 pages) could you please provide us with the brand/model device and the used firmware (WM5 or WM6 and language?)

Best Regards, Tom

Windows Mobile 2003

Hi Guys,
I have been following this thread over the last 6 months or so and delighted at the progress as have an Abacus watch but havent been able to use it. I have an Orange SPV M500 running WM2003 and am wondering if there is a hope of this software working on this phone.
Thanks!
