I'm really not too concerned about the size, PPC is a PPC, its going to be bigger than a cell phone. Looking for good function for the price.
Will buy a 2GB miniSD and be on the lookout for a WM6 flash.

Right now with sprint i can get a 6700...

$549.99
-$150.00 2 Year Contract
-$150.00 Mail in rebate
-------------------
$249.99

I dont know if it gets better than that. Someone pinch me!

Sure it does.. buy a refurb off ebay for $150, no contract or rebate to deal with.

Better yet, activate it on cricket and save a bunch of $$$$ on your phone bill too.

That's where I got mine. I couldn't see paying $300 for a product that is approaching EOL and the 6800 on the horizon.

The real question here is, is the 6800 worth the extra loot for all of the small upgrades that come with it.

So what if the 6700 is at the end of the life cycle?

$250 vs. $450

Thats a pretty substantial difference.

I have yet to see a real slam dunk selling point on the 6800, maybe I'm missing something, but, just an increase in processing power and little things here and there are not worth doubling the price of my purchase.

Besides, do we really need to play Halo2 on a PPC?
Isnt that what your regular PC is meant for?

I've bought 4 off ebay (mine, one for my sister, one for a client, and one for a friend)... only one was not in PERFECT condition. I sent it back and they sent me one in great shape.

None of the phones have had over 60 hours of total usage, and all were shipped with a brand new OEM battery.

Why not save $100, when you're likely getting a refurb from sprint anyway?

Because Sprint discontinued this model late last year. Most stores have no new ones left.

Does Cricket have EVDO? And does their picture mail and video mail send to and from all the other major carriers?

Sprint has some on their website.
I hope they hold out until 6/1.

No EVDO (coming soon, supposedly)

and yes, picture and video mail work to and from all carriers, to my knowledge.

The internet is cricket's primary limitation currently. Cricket WAP is proxied, and doesn't allow access to many sites. You can use google to work around the proxy limitations, but certain things are absolutely prevented, as a result of the proxy. You cannot use any IM program (there's one web based one that works, can't remember what it's called), Can't use any web based today plugins (like weather plugins)... it can't stream maps, so you can't use map4pda, or google maps as a GPS client.. things like that. You can't configure Pocket Outlook to connect to your email server.

Pretty much anything you can do within your internet browser will work, but none of the accessories that require the web will work.

Hopefully EVDO will fix those limitations.
