Best Case For The 6700

Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on the best case for the PPC-6700.

I'll be getting an upgrade on June 1st, and making Apache my choice.

I'd like to buy the case ahead of time, so I can protect it from day 1.

Thanks for the replies!

Eric

Wow, if you're looking to wait until June, you might as well get the 6800 which will probably be out sometime between May and August.

There are many, many, many threads (and opinions) about cases. Use the search function on this web site and in the forums at www.pdaphonehome.com for details.

for $249.99 the 6700 appears to be a better value.
I'm not too excited about the "upgrades" for the 6800.

Same operating system, just a "latest & greatest", it seems.

Accept that the Official OS ROMs for the 6700 only go up to AKU 2.2 which has lots of bugs. Sure you can get 3.5 here but it isn't perfect.

WM6 should be significantly more stable and faster from reports I have been seeing. Not to mention it is the target for things like RIMs new Blackberry software for WM devices.

The 6700 is also a huge brick, the 6800 shaves some of that bulk off.

Is it still just a rumor of WM6?

or has the 6800 been confirmed to come with WM6?

While it apears to be 3.3 currently, because it is a newer device it has a high likelyhood of getting 6 as an update. Unfortunately there is little to make me think the 6700 will get 6 (officialy at least ;) ).

I guess its just something i'll have to mull over the next month.

Price will play a huge factor, any guesses on base price with sprint for the 6800 when it first hits shelves?

$250 is tough to beat for the 6700.

That sentiment seems to be fairly common in our community, but I just have to laugh every time I read it. I got the 6700 through TEP when my G1000 finally crapped out. That thing was gigantic and had maybe 10% the power and functionality of the Apache. Try carrying one of those around for a week and see how much of a brick you think the 6700 is.

I'm really not too concerned about the size, PPC is a PPC, its going to be bigger than a cell phone. Looking for good function for the price.
Will buy a 2GB miniSD and be on the lookout for a WM6 flash.

Right now with sprint i can get a 6700...

$549.99
-$150.00 2 Year Contract
-$150.00 Mail in rebate
-------------------
$249.99

I dont know if it gets better than that. Someone pinch me!

the 6800 is virtually identical in size to the 6700... at least, assuming the cingular 8125 is identical to the 6800.

I played with the 8125 last week, and I wasn't impressed in the least. There is absolutely no way I'd pay huge bucks to upgrade to a phone with minimal upgrades, other than aesthetics.
