Ok this is just to confirm that EVDO will work on a Telus unit with NO Extrom files run.

You need to create a Cellular Connection to the number #777 when prompted for user name, password, domain for the connection leave them all blank and the save settings check mark set.

I will keep an eye out to see if my other issue go away now.

wifi issues

Issue 1 removed (non-issue as far as I can tell)

Issue 2: Under Wireless LAN (start...settings...connections) I don't have the SSID of my access point listed like I used to. I know I'm connected because I have a private IP address and my data (cellular) connection is off, but I'm posting this via my 6700 on wifi.

Middle of the day, I tried to pwr my phone on, and it wouldn't respond. The LEDs were still blinking. I ejected the SD card, and the phone sprung to life. Actually, it started ringing, but only rang once. When I called the guy back, he said that it had rang 4 times before going to vmail. Also, 3 other calls had apparently come through in the hour before, but not one rang through to the phone while it was locked up.

Aside from that, I haven't had any other issues. BT seems fine, and I use my headset for every call.

Later

I have the same issue every once and a while. I have a 2GB toporam minisd card stuffed with TomTom map1.5G and 500Megs of mp3's.

Well things seems to be working great now that I am running with no ExtRom customizations.

Another thing I have noticed missing in this rom is the option to have all buttons locked when the device is in sleep mode. I think it was a tab under Power or under Buttons in my old rom.

In this version it is its own control panel called "Key Lock". Requires a soft reset to make the change though, and the middle option doesn't seem to work. For the final version this is being reverted to the old method (tab in buttons control panel).

I don't see anything called key lock, just the standard "Lock" for password protection, and the "Device lock" today plugin.

Can you be more specific or post a screen shot? I am basically looking to set the power button as the only active button when the device is asleep.

luv2chill, are you using something more recent than RC4? We don't have that control panel, at least not in the default list of "Settings". Maybe there's a way to enable it.

For everyone else, you can make the regedit:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\OEM\KEYBD]
"KeyLock"=dword:00000001
or you can use the utility posted by luv2chill in the next post in order to have the button lock in RC4. According to the bugtracker this has been fixed since RC4 was released, which is why I'm wondering if lu2chill is using a more recent, but not-yet-released version?

Oh my bad, sorry the Key Lock thing was in a test release after RC4... but it really didn't work right anyway.

In order to get button lock on in this version you can install this cab file. It does not expose any UI for making the change but it will put in the necessary registry entry to turn it on (which I assume is what you want!).
