Yes. I've reinstalled pr6 a couple of times. Seems I have to fix that button each time. Also, it doesn't always work the first time after fixing it for some reason. You might even have to soft reset to get it to work.

You definitely have to restart after applying the button 5 fix. The reason is because the device only checks that entry at startup. So it's not aware that you changed it until you soft reset.

Are there any issues with different providers? In other words, is this rom dependant on a specific provider?

Has anyone experienced memory loss/slowness while using a memory card with this ROM?

It takes a long while for files to load. It takes about 30 seconds to check the storage status under system settings. I never had that problem with 2.2.

More alarmingly: Without a memory card, and without wisbar lite - I soft reset and start with about 31 megs of RAM. Running Wisbar lite knocks me down to 30. But if I have a storage card as well - all of a sudden I'm down to 25 megs of RAM.

Has anyone else noticed this? 5 megs of RAM to manage storage seems a lot. I only have storage files on my card, ie maps, games and songs - no programs. I recently reformatted FAT32 - would it have made a difference if I'd formatted plain FAT?

One thing I know for sure - DO NOT use the format function under settings. I twice used it to format my card - and both times it made my card totally unreadable in the 6700. Once, I was actually unable to see it on my PC as well. I was about to send it in for warranty repair - but decided to try it in a roommates Treo. The treo saw it, and formatted it right away so that it could again be seen on my PC. Now I'm formatting on my PC - so hopefully I'll get better performance.

I was shocked again to see that as soon as the card became unreadable - my RAM went up to almost 31 megs. With the card installed - program memory dropped to under 25.

Has anyone come up with a definite way to enable MMS on Verizon using pr6? I didn't let the customization run but I don't even have an MMS option. If I run the MMS cab from the extended rom, I cannot send or receive MMS messages.

Also, perhaps I'm just missing something obvious, but when I enter the #777 into my connections, when I try to connect it asks for a username and password. If i leave it blank it keeps prompting me until i either enter one or quit. Any ideas?

Well...tried this build...now all the phone does is show the word "Serial" on its face...if plugged into USB, the word "Serial" changes to "USB". And there is a v0.32 version number on the screen. Thats it. Totally unresponsive other than that...

A factory hard reset appears to work...the only function that does...and then the words and ver number reappear.

The phone will not enter bootloader mode.

is there any way to "fix" this? or is my phone now a brick...?

forseti....sounds like you ARE in bootloader mode..the serial screen that chages to USB when you connect to PC. correct me if I am missing something.

From there, I double click MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe on my desktop and the ROM is installed.......

I have had no issues with this ROM being slow in any situation. My wife has a 1gig card in her 6700 and this ROM has been SUPER stable. She has even left SD installed apps running all day long and it has only been soft reset once in 5 days! (yes I warned her about leaving SD apps running)

She absolutely adores me now that I have gotten her beloved 6700 stable and fast.

Possible motto for Saridnour ROM: Marraige in the crapper? Install the Saridnour custom ROM and fall in love again!

I installed with not one single Vzw ext. app and we don't use MMS on it... yet.

I will have to check the memory status when the wife gets home tonight but regardless, she loves it so I won't mess with it more than I have to.

forseti... rbeaufor speaketh the truth. You ARE in bootloader mode! Install the ROM, do a hard reset (both soft keys and reset) and then hit reset when you see the "Customization in 3 seconds" screen and you should be all set.
