Jendand, I don't know if that was for me but my battery was at almost 90% when this happened.

On another note, left the 6700 running Pocket Informant all night and woke up this morning to a nice responsive unit. That is a first for me.

Everytime I use my BT headset (Voyager 510) to initiate VC, it brings up the com manager screen.

I'm able to use VC this way, but the com manager window comes up as well.

Voice Command recognition continues to be a problem for me.

Are you using the 1.6 executable?

Just to update my other post where I didn't have the roaming settings. I ended up reflashing my phone back to the default Sprint ROM and than reflashed it back to this ROM, and now I have all of my settings back.

DSOD, Lockups and Battery Level

jendand, and Sar,

In PR5 and PR6 if the battery level gets near 35% or less you will experience lockups out of the blue. This has been an issue for a while and I haven't found any consistent reason why it is doing so.

If it is charged about 35% I have no problems even with a soft reset if so desired. Is there anything that has changed in the battery level warning area? I have started reviewing XCPUScalar as a possible conflict with battery level and attempting to scale up.

My testing is starting this weekend with XCPUScalar disabled completely.

Sar can you test you phone at a low battery level and see what your results are.

Take care,

schwos and saridnour,

I haven't used xcpuscalar for pr6.

Not having a low battery at present, I decided to experiment with a full battery.

So with battery level at 90 to 80%, I did a series soft resets. Got screen lockup exactly 20% of the time.

During these trials, I tried it with and without WisbarLite. There were slightly fewer lockups with WisbarLite turned on at reset. I also tried it with and without Time Sync: there was no difference.

PolloLoco: Yes you would need to copy the files back from another rom. I would recomend from another 3.5 build but the earlier should work.

Van G I would recomend doing a hard reset and before running the extended or syncing, cioy the vc.exe over and test it. It should work. After that sowly re-load your apps and check from time to time to make sure vc is working and see if a 3rd party app or hack is casuing it.

schwos/jendand: Try my repro. Do a hard reset and do not load the extended rom. Remove the SD card as well and try doing a soft reset series. Also see aboout testing with a low battery state. I usualy have my phone on a charger so Ill have to plan to get it in a low batery state. If the low battery state is the issue. It may be in part due to the battery. It could be possible for a battery to be getting low, but not have the current/ma to support the reset as this should draw more power. This could be battery specific..possibly.. schwos is your battery an extended batt? Do you have another battery to try the low state with? I have an extended and std. and will try both but I would recomend you try another (if you have one) to see if it is localized to your unit.

saridnour-- I'll be happy to do it. I'm just uncertain what "not loading the extended rom" means. Do you mean "don't load the customization"? So to be specific, when it says it will start customizing in 3 sec., how do I stop it? Soft reset? Any clarification of this will be appreciated.

My experiments thus far do not point to the battery as being the problem. I seem to get as many lockups on high charge as on low, even though originally I had thought otherwise.

Thanks, jendand

Thanks Saridnour. Unfortunately, I confirmed yesterday that when I reloaded 2.2 - I couldn't copy the MSN files. They appeared to be protected, so I couldn't copy them out to my desktop. Any one have any suggestions?

Otherwise - I did a hard reset and reinstalled everything now that I know more or less what I want. This time, Bubblebreaker worked. There were 2 things I did that could have contributed. For the first time, I didn't let the Verizon extrom run it's customizations. Also - I hard reset twice. I hard reset immediately after flashing the PR6 ROM update - then get a warning upon boot that the file sddaemon was missing. Soft resets had the problem recurring - so I hard reset again. Again I prevented the Verizon customizations - and this time, everything worked.

Right now, my machine is running great. I'm amazed that I've got everything loaded that I want - and I still have 35 megs of main memory - and 4 megs of the ExtROM left.

When the unified ROM group gets their kitchen system set up - I'm going to want to try my own ROM. But until then, the Saridnour 3.5 Pr6 is my clear favorite for all it's quality apps. Thanks again!
