has anyone tested this with PPC-6800? it would be nice if it worked.

moralehu 07-13-2007 01:12 PM

I've tryed the easy and the manual way but neither one works. I tried sending different pictures to myself and other people but none of them work.
I also used to be able to text 46645 with no problems to get wheather information, directions and other stuff google offers, but now when I try texting that number I get an error from 9230 saying : "Message sent using invalid number of digits. Please resend using 10 digit number or valid short code. Msg 2114"
PLEASE HELP! It happened right after I installed mms.

gsessons 07-13-2007 01:37 PM

it works!!!!!!!

jfol01 07-26-2007 03:46 PM

Question:
i installed the mms app last week and it worked great.
i had to take my phone (sprint ppc6700) to the sprint store here in hopes of getting a replacement battery on monday and the lady in the store did a hard reset to my phone :x
when i reinstalled the mms app it installs ok, but now when i try to send a pic I get a message saying "Message Delivery Failed. Or Message Receipt Failed". I have tried installing the cab that was at the beginning of this post and the manual mms app, but neither work. Does anyone jnow what went wrong?
Thanks

Someone please find a way to at least view it full size and I'd be soooo happy!

Ya I using Opera to see larger pic but it does not have option 2 save pic so I use screep cap program to copy the pic.

thejunki 08-29-2007 10:44 PM

Download not working

Can anyone tell me why i cant seem to download the cab file?

raunu 08-29-2007 11:05 PM

Someone please post a new link to the cab file. the old one is broken

ETphoneHOME 08-29-2007 11:33 PM

I have heard through the grapevine that when Rev.A comes out, picture messaging will be available. Can someone verify this, or is this just a rumor?

Download simple install .zip with .cab inside HERE

__________________________________________________ ______________

Manual Method
Regedit Program
1. Download a Registry edit program. I use PHM Regedit which can be found HERE!

2. Install the regedit cab file by either downloading directly to the ppc and running it or downloading onto your desktop and then syncing the file over from there and running it.

3. I always backup my registry before and after regedits, that way I have a backup file to restore from. I also keep a copy on my ppc and a copy on my desktop of all backups I have done, also make sure u number them and remember what each does or create a hack list to refer to which registry backup does what. You can backup your registry by going to start/programs/PHM Regedit/ now at the bottom there is a bar, go to tools/backup and then name and pick where you want to store the backup file.

Now to the MMS Hack
1. Download HERE!

2. After u download the file either directly to ppc or syncing the zip file over to your ppc, unzip it on ur ppc and install the cab file, then soft reset.

3. Use ur regedit program and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI
Click to open EnableServerEdit and changed the key from 0 to 1. Soft reset.

4. Go to your mail box. It should show you that you are currently in the mms folder. Select menu, then select MMS Configuration. Select the Severs tab and make a new server connection by entering the following:

Server name: Sprint
Gateway: leave blank
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms
Connect via: Select sprint
Sending size limitation: 350kb
WAP: Select WAP 2.0

Select ok and then set sprint as your default and then delete the Verizon one.
There you have it! Go to your pics or movies and select one. Select menu, select send, then select MMS. You can now send your picture/video mail with ease. Also in the camera mode there is now a setting for video mms.

If u have any more problems feel free to PM me or any ?`s just drop a line. This is info I found in my research I'm not taking credit for coming up with it, just letting you know it WORKS.
Note: makes outlook appear to not pop up as quick when u try to open from today screen or start menu, but a well worth it hack.

freeflow504 08-30-2007 08:06 PM

the link to the cab is dead

patrickincc 09-01-2007 10:07 PM

does the text and pic message really work with the sprint mogul. I am considering giving up my blackberry 8703 e for the mogul but the only problem i had with it was that you cant text pics from it . I already have the problem with my blackberry and i dont want the same issue.

ALBOWSKI 09-03-2007 02:19 PM

Im having the same "Message Delivery Failed. Or Message Receipt Failed" issue on my mogul and my wifes apache! This cab was installed on both these phones months ago and they just up and quit working here recently? anyone got any ideas on whats happened here. Ive tried reinstalling and a reconfiguring the mms server settings but still no go? any help would me greatly appreciated!

erikk 09-07-2007 03:43 AM

same "Message Delivery Failed. Or Message Receipt Failed" issue here on a PPC-6700 with Kirvin latest C&S rom.

nuro 09-07-2007 10:51 AM

same here, its some error with the server, no matter what i do im getting the same thing, hardreset, reinstall, even after the wm6 upgrade. Someone over at sprintusers mentioned it was a dns issue and there was an update over here, but i couldnt find it.

dbarrett5381 09-07-2007 10:59 AM

This tells you how to fix the problem. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=878

erikk 09-07-2007 12:16 PM

FYI changing the DNS servers doesn't fix the problem for me. I had those DNS servers in already and I'm still getting that error.

dbarrett5381 09-07-2007 12:28 PM

wierd, works for me..............

VisPreludeVtec 09-07-2007 12:42 PM

changing DNS did not work for me either

erikk 09-07-2007 12:44 PM

Turns out it was a combination of the DNS and the URL. I changed the URL to:

http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlet/mms

And it started working (notice servlet and not servlets)

VisPreludeVtec 09-07-2007 12:58 PM

changing the server did not work either but my DNS change wont stay either, sprint is killing me here

nuro 09-07-2007 02:58 PM

failed for me too, tried it both ways, new dns, new server, new dns and new server, still failing. wtf

lrrbrown 09-07-2007 03:48 PM

MMS Just stopped Working

I have installed and used this MMS pic mail software for the last year, and never had any problems until recently. When trying to send pic, the phone connects and tries to send as normal, then I receive a failed to send error message. this problem just started a few days ago. I have tried re-installing and same situation. Did something change? Please help !!!

I have a PPC- 6700 - Sprint

nuro 09-07-2007 04:09 PM

just out of curiousity, are we maybe all on grandfathered vision plans?

lrrbrown 09-07-2007 04:20 PM

I am beginning to think we are on grandfathered vision plans... something has apparently changed. I tried changing the DNS server and URL ....still receiving messaged failed to send error.

razzix 09-07-2007 11:56 PM

I am on a ppc 6700 with sprint and can't seem to get this working. Installed the .cab just fine, but when I go to send all I get is the "message delivery failed. or message receipt failed." Anyone got any ideas where to begin troubleshooting?

or is this something everyone is having a problem with that cannot be fixed atm?

I'm not quite catching where to alter the URL. Where should I be going to change the URL like in your quote?

Sorry that wasn't clear. From the first post of the thread:

For me I had to change that server address to http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlet/mms (notice servlet is singular not plural)

BTW also for me the single install didn't seem to set these changes so I had to do them manually (but that didn't fix the problem until I had done the DNS and changed the URL).

eskimones 09-11-2007 12:59 AM

Can someone post a link to this file MMS3.0.6.22_Apache_VZW_26Sep05.zip..
or email it to me eskithegreat@aol.com
Old link seems to be broken.
Thank you

This worked for me, but I still cannot get pics to download (I still have to go to the website) I get an Error synchronizing when I try to receive

I also noticed I had 3 connections:

Sprint PCS Vision
Phone as Modem
Sprint PCS

When I tried sending an MMS it automatically connects to Sprint PCS Vision and I got a message failed message, but when I send via Sprint PCS the message is sent successfully. If that's the case do I really need the Sprint PCS Vision connection, if not can I delete that connection and just rely on the Sprint PCS connect as my access to EvDO?

I'm running on ppc 6700 with Hemi's Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Wideawake 09-17-2007 11:15 PM

simple install has been updated with the new server settings.
