OK. There has to be a better way to see the picture mail that someone sends instead of being sent to the sprint picture mail web site.

Can a wap friendly site be made. why dont the pictures show up like they used to

Thanks....

Well, I can't be 100% certain, but i'm about 96.257% sure that it's the MMS app. It works fine before I put the MMS Hack on there, it stops working correctly while the MMS hack is on, and it works fine after i uninstall the MMS hack. I dunno, maybe the MMS is just conflicting with some other program i've installed, but everything I have is pretty standard: the standard Colonel programs+Voice Command, BTToggle, BTAudio, and Palm Messaging. I suppose it's possible that some kind of conflict between the Palm Messaging and MMS hack exists that's brought about when I'm connected to Wireless Modem? All I know is Wireless Modem is a lot more important to me than the MMS App =)

Wat version of the palm messaging do you have? Check in the options and see if any thing you dont need is selected. Also click on this link and try ID transfer instead of bttoggle. Works real good with voice command, and you can listen to audio/video/navigation by just saying open audio with voice command.

I'm using the version of Palm Messaging you sent me last week (Beta 4 I think?). I played around with the options a little bit, nothing seemed to work though. I'll do some more investigating when I get out of work.

Oh, and thanks for the heads up on the BTToggle replacement. I'll definitely be checking that out when I get home. Thanks!

questions about this MMS hack integrating with threaded SMS

My first post!

First of all I love this site. :D Been following closely for about a week and am just now getting my feet wet with some of the hacks. You guys are crazy smart. First major step was Wideawakes custom AKU 2.2. I'm still a 5 on the noob scale (ie. can follow good instructions) so I think Im gonna wait for the dust to settle before trying more cutting edge stuff (3.3, 3.5, cooking ROMs...etc). Anyways back on topic: a few questions about all this MMS/SMS stuff.

I installed this Arcsoft MMS app. It works fine. Tested sending/receiving to sprint customer (myself) and cingular (sister). Also, I had previously installed beta 4 of the palm threaded SMS app. It's also working great. My questions are about how they all work together.

1. My understanding is that there's currently no way to send MMS from within the palm threaded messaging app. Correct? When I try it just stays in the outbox and the app shuts down.

2. When I send an MMS through Outlook (with the Arcsoft app) it sends fine and goes to the sent folder. BUT incoming MMS's dont get delivered to outlook, but instead to the palm messaging app (and actually in a thread if from a person i'd been previously SMSing with). Is there a way to keep MMSs seperate and have them delivered into outlook and not the palm app?

3. Finally when I send an MMS to a non sprint customer they get the full intact message as sent in their inbox, but when I receive one i just get a link to a sprint site. Is there any way around this or does sprint just have a wonky way of doing MMS/picture mail (or whatever they're calling it these days)?

Ok so this might be a useless post because I think I've combed the relevant threads and couldn't find anything better than the current setup. (Gonna get even more confusing if I decide to use flexmail... then three apps for all my messaging!) None of this is a huge deal, i don't use MMS often but I think that for many of us the elegance of a hack is almost as important as its utility.

Thanks, and hope to see you guys on some other threads!

Wideawake 02-10-2007 12:59 AM

First welcome to the site. Glad you like it and my custom AKU 2.2. ;) Well to the ?s

1. Nope and I doubt we see that anytime soon.

2. and 3. They seem about the same so I will explain. Its not true picturemail thats why you recieve a text message instead of it coming into the mms folder itself. Just something you gotta deal with. The same goes for the palm its your default text message app so thats why it gets it. I cant think of any quick fixes right now but if I think of anything I'll let you know :thumbleft:

haha, that's cool dude, can't keep track of everything =)

As for the MMS, I downloaded the one from the PPCgeeks FTP site as of end of January/beginning of February. For Colonel's Custom, I have the one that was on there as of February 5th (Beta2SprintNoJunk)

BigBallin 03-14-2007 08:28 PM

everytime i hit send nothing happens. doesnt ask for a contact or anything. i have softrest a couple of times and reinstalled it a couple and its not working. any advice?

BigBallin 03-15-2007 01:58 AM

never mind fixed it.

mcq3000 03-18-2007 04:49 AM

the settings no longer work for sprint. I can login into my pictures.sprintpcs.com account and send and receive picture mail via the web interface and it works perfect, but through the mms app sending pictures no longer works at all, it used to like a year ago but I decided to give it a spin and start actually using it and it no longer works. I have configured it ofcourse and when I send I actually get a msg from the program saying send complete but it never gets to the number and logging into pictures.sprintpcs.com doesnt show any new pictures in my inbox.

TonyDiv 03-19-2007 12:52 PM

I rarely send pic mail, but recently I tried to send one and when I hit "new" absolutely nothing happens.

When I try to send one from pix and vids it just sits in the outbox with no recipient. There is no way to add the "to:" info.

I know that the Arcsoft software and hack worked fine in 3.5 and I don't know what could possibly have changed to make it not work. I reinstalled it and nothing changed. Any ideas?

mike1224 03-29-2007 08:32 PM

Is there a way to increase the sending size limit? I tried this:

Use ur regedit program and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI

I upped it as far as possible, but still have a 350K limit.

YES!!! DITTO

Okay so I went to the Wiki and to the Noob guide for the Sprint HTC Apache, then I clicked on the "here" in the first part of the tutorial for the MMS thing. I followed the instructions to the T and can send/receive pics . Only problem I noticed is the the link you receive to view a picture has a space in the end of it that keeps a bit of it off the link you click on. I just copied and pasted the extra bit and there was the picture no problem. Before I was just getting a link to the Picture mail site. But once the entire link was pasted it was the picture and all normal options.

I have no idea why that happened, my hubby's ppc got the MMS correct and displayed correctly as well. Just mine was being wierd :|

EDIT: umm... yeah... too many threads looked at today for me... I linked back to this very one, page one. Nice.

I've gotten nothing on integrating it with the threaded app. I have that but haven't installed it because I have no idea what will mess with what etc. :|

Ralphizzle 04-07-2007 12:44 AM

do i have to manually add the Number i want to send the picture to each time? or is there another way. thanks

Picture Mail

I installed the .cab file from the automatic link. Everything seems to be there, but when I try to send a picture it shows to be sending, but then a few minutes later I get a message that the file could not be sent would I like to try again or try later. No mater which option you pick it continues to give the same message. What are my options to fix this.

MMS help.

hey guys i have a problem. I just got a new PPC 6700 and was in the process of hacking and tweaking to my liking, everything was going fine until MMS. This isn't my first time installing this so im not a noob, hence the reason why im baffled as to why it doesn't work. Anyway i can send pics but when i recieve pics i get the message saying :The file'http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/?........MMS' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file." Now i have reintalled this and followeed all the instruction exactly.. but i cant get it to work.. someone please help.

8notime 05-07-2007 10:21 PM

Check your file associations. You probably associated MMS files with another program such as TCPMP or Resco Picture Viewer, or something. You need to set it back to IE or Opera, whichever browser you use. You can either edit the registry key or use SKTools to do this.

Gee 05-08-2007 12:44 AM

Actually i had opera on here but i deleted it... anyway how would i go about confirming this... and setting it back to IE?

Moto Q

This may be something hard for people to do or to figure out without having the hardware or software to work with but...i used the .cab file on my moto and it appeared to work at the beginning..the mms appeared in the accounts section but when a new pix message was created the compose screen was suddenly suppressed or closed or w/e...i was wondering if a fix could be made...that would be helpful to all of us poor Q people..

ramashkaus 05-30-2007 01:19 AM

i can`t get it to work help please

I have tried it on another ppc and it worked perfect. but when I hit new in the mms account button blinks and nothing else happeneds. when i select a picture and press send it gives me all the accounts and when I select mms again it blinks and nothing. it just doesn't engage. I have downloaded a cab file and installed it and removed it five times. I have followed manual directions and it didn't help neither. I really want this to work without hard reset. I am running "clean" rom. is there any way to help me? please!!!

GaRsNoW 06-03-2007 06:57 PM

Sorry for the newb post, but i'm having the hardest time extracting that MMS zip file. It opens in Win RAR, and I have no clue what to do with the file. Any help?!???

GaRsNoW 06-03-2007 07:08 PM

When I download this right to my ppc, I get an error saying the file cannot be opened..... What can I do?

GaRsNoW 06-04-2007 02:10 PM

Any help?

atarilynx 06-04-2007 09:30 PM

This forum is incredible. I am a Sprint PPC-6700 owner as of a week, and already I see ways to improve it. Thanks for your work and time in sharing ways for us to get the most out of the 6700

GaRsNoW:

What you need to do is extract the .CAB file from the .ZIP file, then copy it to a folder on your phone using ActiveSync. Once you have done that, you can install it by running the .CAB file DIRECTLY from your phone. That is, you cant run it from the PC.

Sounds like you were trying to run the .ZIP file directly from your 6700. Just extract the .CAB, copy to your 6700 and run it there.

Hope that helps.

GaRsNoW 06-05-2007 11:46 AM

^^^Thanks! Im going to send a test right now.

GaRsNoW 06-05-2007 01:20 PM

I am having the hardest time. Ive downloaded the full cab, and the manual cab, and both will not let me edit their preferences.

For instance:
WHen i downloaded the full cab, i would choose a picture I wanted to send, chose mms, and then my phone would not do anything.

I then deleted that, and downloaded the cab to install manually. Now it wont let me delete the verizon wireless, nor let me make a new server.

Any tips?

ebbtide 06-05-2007 02:51 PM

I'm now able to send pics (with a small amount of hassle).. Thanks Mucho!

Question about the Sprint picture website. When I get the txt with the link, I click it and IE takes me to the website. It shows me the thumbnail and has a dropdown box that says "download", and a button that says "GO", but the button is not clickable. I think either the website isn't identifying the phone (thinks it's a desktop PC), or IE isn't displaying correctly. Anyone have any ideas how I can download, or even just view in full size, the picture? OR if there is something my phone isn't doing correctly?

pixiebaby473 06-08-2007 02:37 AM

I don't know, but I'm having the same problem and its about to drive me crazy! That thumbnail isn't big enough to even tell what the pic is of... this annoys me because me and my friends are some serious pic senders and it kinda ruins it when you can't even make out what the pic is due to its super-tiny size.
Someone please find a way to at least view it full size and I'd be soooo happy!

MMS Overrides PCB Business Connection - Please Help!

Today when I installed the MMS (picture mail software), it worked like a charm. The only problem is that it has completely disabled my pcs business connection that I use to check my work email. How do I configure my device so I can use both programs.

Also, while I have downloaded the software onto my storage card, it has actually taken up my main storage memory so much so, that it has almost depleted it. How can I ensure that it's strictly on my storage card & not trying to work through the main storage memory?

Please Help...

candymanjl 06-10-2007 10:27 AM

with my sprint phone I just click on the picture itself to get the bigger version.

this hack gave me the options for the picture mail but those don't work :( I'm using the aku 3.5 from this site, is anyone else using aku 3.5 and this hack? what should I check on my phone?

Thanks!

Desperate for help

Ok so I am new to this site and one reason I got on was because someone said there was a link that would enable me to send pictures to other phones without having to use email. I found the link and downloaded it to my sprint treo 700 wx and saved it as a file then I went to file search located the download but it gave me this message that read There is no application associated with ppcgeekssprintmms run the application first then open this file from within the application. How do I go about doing that?? Also, when I typed in the direct link for this on my internet browser from my phone I got this message that i broke the internet and that this page isn't real. What is going on and can someone please walk me through this like I'm a 2 year old??

Anyone got any tricks for making Alltel MMS work? Sucks to have such a dumb smartphone.
