Wow, gents I hope that is a conversation we don't start up again. I ended up having to scan most of what is being said (waisting too much time trying to read it all) because I was searching for issues with this ROM that might resenble my issue.

Anyways, I have a bit of a odd issue, trying to sync on my work PC, it starts to sync then after a few seconds it disconnects and I get an error on my PPC "Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings."

What! I thought that was the whole point of DHCP to assign an address.
I also do not have this problem w/my 2 home PCs.
If I have to enter an address which range should I use that would not conflict with anything else?

Hello Christopher, any further updates on the new ROM upgrade.

Hi Jeff,

I tried your latest AKU 3.5 no junk, I have a couple of questions.

1. for some reason, the Explore Pocket PC is not available, activesync does work, if Explore Pocket PC does not work, how do you move files to pocket pc from computer? I am more concerned about any conversion or moving from PC to miniSD card?

2. There is no zip program, I downloaded RAR for Pocket PC, no biggie, just a suprise.

3 A2DP seems to work better, still some skips, not as many, I am using Mort Player, have not tried Windows Media Player yet.

I will check EV-DO, hope there are no issues.

Could you please respond to item # 1

Thank You

Dave

Jeff,

Again, burning the midnight oil checking out your AKU 3.5 no junk.

I do not use often, however, any suggestions of where to find Windows Live Mobile Messenger, likely a beta?

Dave

golfman32,
About the Windows Live Mobile Messenger that was beta. I believe it expired on 3/29/07. I was using the beta Windows Live that included messenger, and it stopped working. I found a copy of Pocket MSN that i will post when they allow me. What version of windows are you using that activesync won't work with it? I have Vista, and I had to download a different driver just so I could update the rom on my apache.

I have a link to Live site that seems to work, if you can post Pocket MSN , that would be helpful.

I am using XP pro SP2, Activesync 4.5, everything else works with Activesync except Explore Pocket PC. Windows Media Player on laptop see's device and storage card!!

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Any idea?

Thank you for your work on this ROM, I really appreciate it. I haven't tried flashing the ROM on my phone but I have a friend who already flashed his phone with this ROM and he loves it. Ofcourse there are a few bugs here and there that originate from the original ROM this build is based from. Anybody have a clue as to when there will be a new release of the ROM this build is based on?

Thanks!

Works like a champ!

I just baked this rom right into my phone and it works like a champ! So far I have had no problems with battery life, performance, mms, or anything of that sort. I will give it a more practical test tomorrow as I go through my daily routines.

I installed the ROM on this cellphone through Windows Vista in just about 5 ~ 7 minutes. Very easy and very fast. Thank you very much!

--- I can't wait until they release the base ROM

i've been running this ROM for about 2 weeks now, i guess.

it's great. my phone is soooo much more responsive now.

But I do have two issues that I'd like to share:

1. My bluetooth calls that are rather long often get "kicked off", after which the headset won't reconnect to the phone without turning the bluetooth on the phone off and back on.

2. I can't get my phone to force roam. That is, if I go to phone > options > settings > roaming, and click "roaming only" and press ok, when I check it, it's back to "automatic".

Anyone else experiencing these issues?

Ive been using this ROM since I got my new replacement phone thats been at least a week or so now and its been Great! I have a friend in a differnt state and I VNC'd into her computer and flashed her 6700 as well with this ROM. Neither phone has had an issue except for MMS.. We both have tried sending MMS's to each other but they never show up. But I never had MMS before so not a big deal would just be nice.. Thanks for all the hard work by everyone that made this site and this rom and other roms possible! Choice is such a nice thing to have.. Thanks!
