I'm still here, just busy with other projects.

I would avoid restoring from a backup, since a lot of registry and other system settings will be different.

yep, it's good to hear you're still around, Jeff. I installed this ROM what, three weeks ago, and considered playing wih another, but keep thinking, "Why?" It runs flawlessly, has all the programs I need, great battery life, and still a lot of program space. Keep in touch.

Jeff, I need some help with this build. I have had it for several weeks and love it except for one thing, THE BATTERY LIFE!

This morning, I took it off charge at 6am and by 3pm it was warning of low battery and to shut off to avoid loss of data. During that time I made four calls of less than 2 min each. The rest of the time it was in off mode.

I have done the hack to keep Activesync from turning on and it does not update the time automatically. I always make sure that every program is turned off after its use.

Is nine hours of standby and 8 minutes of talk time normal?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

battery life

I work 12-15 hours and make about 30 mins of phone calls a day I keep my data connection turned off and have push e-mail disabled beam receive all is turned off and don't use BT at all and at the end of the day I'm still at about 40-50 % I guess iv just gotten used to making my batt last and now turn things off by default I also am a freak about stopping all running progs and keep backlights turned down as low as possible hope some of this helps those who are having battery vampires attack them

Thanks Jeff, No, I don't have either on. Do you think the EVDO hack above would help?

Thanks

Is anyone else encountering these problems? Are there any solutions for these issues?
I'm having NO issues with battery drain, it is much better than before actually...

however the modem through USB does not work, and neither does the alternative of internet sharing. The modem says it cannot open com, the internet sharing says check USB cable, and I also got 'failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial' when trying to turn off advanced network func. There are some problems in this rom with network/modem/usb connections. The modem speed is faster than dial up and works great as a back-up for when cable goes out..... so it would be really nice if the modem could work again.

Other than that, everything is fast. I installed the Palm text messaging program, and the mms that comes with it works. I have two options for mms, the one that came built in does not work, the Palm one works.

Bluetooth (bt8010), Windows Media and Voice Command 1.6

I'm a newbie here, just having discovered the idea of 'non-Sprint-created' ROM images thru a friend. I don't really consider myself so much a 'geek' as an 'addictive user' - bigger/faster/MORE! I was a little apprehensive when I loaded up this one 3 days ago but am lovin' it so far!

I haven't had the battery issue that I've seen talked about here, but am having a problem with stuttering and lag for mp3's when listening to them on my Jabra Bluetooth bt8010 headphones. I saw a fix on pdaphone that first says to install MortPlayer and then has a reg hack to bump up the priority for that app. Has anyone tried this, or is there a reg hack to bump up the priority for Windows media player? On another note, I hadn't read the posts about certain progs needing to be in the main ROM and I've installed VC 1.6 in the ext_ROM partition, so we'll see if that gives me any grief. Right now I'm getting some sporadic results with command response coming out over the Bluetooth or the main speaker, or sometimes not at all.

And I started this message to be a big **THANK YOU** to Jeff (and other contributors) for all the hard work, not to whine about a few petty peripheral-specific issues. Thanks again, and I hope I can contribute something useful in return.

Jim
