Here are a few known ones that seem to be a case for most people:

+ active sync is left running and drains the battery fast
(I'm having NO issues with battery drain, it is much better than before actually... )

+Modem over USB does not work "COM OPEN ERROR"

+Internet sharing does not work "CHECK USB CABLE"

+Unable to turn off advanced network functions "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial"

+Built in mms does not work (not received at other end) ... (I suggest taking this out and providing the mms program w/ sprint settings seperate, but zipped with the rom.

-many of the other reported problems seem to be due to people not hard reseting after flashing, or conflicts with third party programs.

I do not know how to cook and would not be able to figure out these bugs... however if ANYONE can try to fix these issues and issue an updated "clean" rom of 3.5 for sprint, it would be damn near perfect!!!

Please, any of you awesome cookers out there, can you tackle the problems in the clean&simple for sprint 3.5 rom and re-release it???
I'm begging!!!! I love the usb modem as a back-up, but at the same time I love how 'stripped/clean' and fast this rom build is. Any takers on this challenge?
Nope. There's not a thing we can do about any of these problems using the kitchen I used. They're known bugs. Take 'em or leave 'em. The ROM project will eventually release a kitchen that fixes these, but it's currently password protected and not for redistribution.

Reminds me of an old buddhist parable. A man goes to see the buddha in hopes that the great teacher can solve his problems. He tells the buddha, "I'm a farmer, and I enjoy farming, but sometimes my yields aren't what I'd like, when it rains too much. And my kids, they're good kids, but sometimes they don't respect me enough and they don't do what say. And my wife, she's a good wife, I love her, but sometimes she does things I wish she wouldn't do..."

The man goes on like that for a while and the buddha listens patiently. Finally, the man wraps up. "So that's it. What can you do for me?"

The buddha says simply, "Nothing. I can't help you with any of that."

The man gets angry. "I thought you were supposed to be some great teacher!" he says. "You were supposed to be this guru, and you can't help me with any of my problems? What good, then, are your teachings?"

"You don't understand," says the buddha. "Everybody has problem. 83 of them, as a matter of fact. Everyone has 83 problems. If you work really hard on one of them you might be able to ultimately solve it, but another one will show up and you'll be right back to having 83 problems."

The buddha thinks for a minute and says, "But perhaps I can help you with the 84th problem."

"What's the 84th problem?" asks the man.

Says the buddha, "That you want not to have any problems."

So it's not possible to attain perfection?!?!? Where was I when that was taught?!

Thanks for sharing, Jeff.

Great ROM

I installed this on 2 Sprint PPC's a few days ago and so far have not noticed any significant change in Battery life - if anything it is perhaps better.
I didn't do the active Sync trick since Sprint has that option locked out.
Also I don't have PUSH enabled but I have it checking Gmail every 60 min.

So far it has been very stable, I have done several soft resets in the process of reinstalling other software bnut never because I had to.

I would recommend this to anyone with Sprint. I have no complaints
- Granted I don't use it to teather or sync over BT or some other esoteric (by my needs anyway) features.

Thanks - I can't wait for the newer release!

I do have a question - has anyone used the Clean & Simple on an Alltel phone? Any issues? My boss wants me to help him out and I am a little nervous since there is not much about the Alltel experiance in the forums.

Also can you not / should you not unlock the Alltel ext rom?

I'm using the Alltel 6700 and this ROM, the only problem I have noticed is battery drain, which I presume is the ActiveSync bug. I'll post again if it's not, but my battery is suffering from 'the drain.

I think after CTIA I'll switch to another ROM if this isn't fixed... haven't heard anything from the author in awhile.

Funny, I'm not having the battery issues. My battery consumption is no worse than with the 2.11 ROM that came from Bell Mobility.
Mind you, I'm not the heaviest user in the world....

You seem to think I'm asking you jeff, however no where in the post did I mention your name. You used someone elses work to create this and they generated (what i feel) is unnecasarry drama. I figured you wouldn't mind if someone took your rom to try to solve these issues. you meantion the bugs being known... if they weren't known bugs, I wouldn't have listed them specifically... if anything that only helps with to find the solution. I'm simply asking for those who are better, and willing, at coding than i am to see if they can find a fix to these problems. I also realize its a glitch in the kitchen you used, but that doesn't mean someone can't stumble upon a fix until the united rom is bug-free.

Jeff all your hard work is as I see it very well done. I'v tried about 9 different ROM images in the last 3 weeks or so, and yours is the best so far and your right they all have the same issues MMS,BATT,ect.ect. even the worst one i tried is still worlds better than 2.2 ever was so heres how i see it if all someone can do is bitch about whats wrong they can always go back to good old 2.2 as for me? I'll stick it out right here!

so do you guys even read the post???
obviously I'm not bitching, I'm just pointing out the main flaws in one post and asking if anyone is up to try and fix the problems...
how about don't be a dick? I'm not complaining at all, in fact I complimented the rom.... I just pointed out that if someone could fix those few bugs, and re-release the rom... it would be the best of all worlds....
did I ask you to do it? no... did I ask jeff? no... i said I love the rom.... I'm just showing areas for improvement. Stop being so ignorant, a lot of this is about working together and sharing information, not telling someone they are bitching when they ask if someone can find a way around known bugs....

Re: well now WTF ???

---here is the originial post, read before you telling somone they are complaining, because this is certaintly not, it is asking for a fix... people can do it in the thread about Sar's rom and he answers and takes it into consideration.... but here you say its impossible and bable some crap about how if I don't like it go back to 2.2? Well excuse me, but I believe you do not understand the concept of the message AT ALL, and therefor perhaps you should not comment upon it---
