Wow we've come a long way. These seem so minor compared to "No USB" that we started with and people were still willing to give it a shot then.

Oh I know - this is for a "perfect rom" not a working one. Funny thing, my wife noticed the busted context help, I've been running it for a week and never even tried it - she hit it the first day I put it on her 6700...
Anyway, no priority for these, just want to document all of them... if some do not get fixed, then we can at least have a list of things that don't work |

Someone here had noticed that there are help files missing in the kitchen 3.5 compared to ROM dumps from other devices. I'm racking my brain trying to remember who that was... I will update my post when I figure it out. Hopefully the fix for that is just a matter of re-incorporating those help files from another ROM.
Wmodem link should be an easy fix. Weird that the shortcut would point to the wrong place. Has anyone looked at the shortcut in a text editor to see where it's pointing? Does the icon show up? Heh, guess I'm revealing I don't have that ROM flashed at the moment. Hoping to do that this weekend. If no one else has reported on that I will check it then. As for the EV-DO arrows, I know I really miss 'em. Thing is though, the dll that contains them is still there in the exact place it's supposed to be (going by the Apache AKU 2 ROMs). What probably a lot of folks don't realize is that flashing arrow thing is a feature only the CDMA phones get (and specifically I believe it is Sprint that mandates all of its phones have some indicator of when data is transferring). We've all gotten spoiled by it (just thought about it, but that right there would be another awesome benefit of getting an official Apache 3.x ROM from HTC--although there's always a chance since Sprint's out of the game that it will have the default icons like all the rest). Anyway, I've not fully investigated whether it's possible to regain the arrows, but I have gotten as far as to figure that it's not anything trivial like a missing file or reg entry. Good post schettj. So many of the bugs are discussed only in the custom rom threads that it's sometimes hard to remember which ones still exist and which have been squashed. |

Sogarth pointed that one out about the help files and his assumption was correct as far as i can tell. He mentioned that the files are missing from the helmi BA kitchen (this is what i used as the base for 3.5), but that they were in the himalaya kitchen (i don't have this and xda is down). I'm sure they can be found and i bet sogarth could help with that one

luv: I miss the evdo indication as well. Gimme a hint at which dll its in, and i'll compare back on it. I'll bet there is a registry setting we didnt get w/ the 3.x genre... dumping back a rom that works, and closely checking the registry diffs i'll BET gives us the fix.
Unchecking the usb connection is fixed in 1.2-pre2 i posted today. bubble breaker? what.. I'd never seen a comment on this before, but i just flashed my rom today, and well.. Its on mine... ?? I posted on my "announce" thread that I had tried to fix the Modem Link error, to no avail. The actualy shortcut is AC**.lnk, and it looks ok to me, i've tried several combinations. On the Initflashfiles from the LOC directory the AC**.lnk is copied into programs. So the ".lnk" to correct is AC**.lnk. I didnt find similar *.lnk in 3.3 rom, to "cheat" and steal it, but well.. not found.. Should be an easy fix. DANG IT.. I thought about yanking the other 3.5 roms from xda, but figured the BA was enough. does ANYBODY have the other ROMS? If we could get them the help files could easily be extracted from em. The issues' gonna be in getting the right "list" of what is missing, but most should be contained in the OS/LOC dirs, so a find should give em to us.

I think the help files are in the 3.3 also, not sure how big a deal it would be to just use those instead, but i do hope someone has a himalaya 3.5 rom somewhere. I guess we could scour the internet for it, i'm sure it's somewhere!
