If you really want to force 1x....then check:
Phone/menu/option/service/scroll down to see if you have the "Mode of Operation" if you dont....then you need to do the hack. Edit at own Risk!!!! HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting Change the option HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0 Then go to Phone/menu/option/service/and check in the list, "Mode of Operation" should be at the bottom. You have 3 choices, Hybrid, EVDO, and 1X. Once you have checked the box and hit ok, you will need to reboot, and then the phone should switch to 1x only.
