saridnour, I'd like to compliment you on an impressive ROM. I only discovered these custom ROMs last week, and the responsiveness is awesome.
You asked about CF apps. I've read through this entire thread, and I guess I must be alone in having issues with CF apps. I run several CF 1 apps, and they all have some issues when running under this ROM that I did not have under AKU2.2. I haven't had the opportunity to test under other 3.x ROMs, but I notice two consistent problems. One app I use routinely is FeederReaderCF, an RSS reader. It's not the best for reading, but I think it's the best as a podcast client. However, under this ROM, it is now unusable due to frequent fatal exceptions that rarely if ever happened before. I've seen something similar on another app that used the OpenNetCF libraries, and this library may not be 100% thread safe, thus the errors, but the apps behave much worse under this ROM. The other issue seems to be related to multiple CF apps running simultaneously. It seems that if I switch between the CF apps, some of them stop responding, and even after killing them, will not run again until a soft reset. Other than these problems, this ROM is awesome and I would like to express my appreciation for all your effort. I know this is a very time-consuming pursuit, and we all benefit from your hard work. I hope you keep up the great work! -wvufan btw... this post filter won't allow me to enter dot net without spelling dot. I think it needs relaxing a bit |

wvufan: are you running the sp1 cab? Just made changes that add some missing .net pieces that could resolve your issue. I know some cf1 apps wont work under cf2. You may also try installing cf1 back on to your device if these apps are reqyured for you. Thanks for the feedback.. keep it up
On wisbar? I have yet to have any more closing issues. So my first post may be in error. Anyone else have any issues with it since the sp1? -saridnour |

saridnour, I am running sp1. I will try installing CF1, and if that doesn't fix it, I'll try installing the full CF2sp1.
Thanks again for your great work. -wvufan |

saridnour,
Installing CF1 did the trick. In the short while I've tested tonight, no app crashes. I'll need to verify a bit more with the app switching issue, but I'd say the .net version was the problem. Any chance the CF1 files could make it into the ROM? Thanks for the help! -wvufan |

saridnour--
You asked about the extent of VC control in other players besides WMP. All of my searching in other forums and my own experimentation with TCPMP and Conduit's Pocket Player indicate the VC control in these players (after the reg hack associating an alternate player in place of WMP) is limited to the "play ..." command. This isn't just through the headset with BT, either. This is straight though the device, also. I haven't worked much with Mortplayer. I'm not sure VC works at all with Mortplayer -- at least, during my brief experimentation I couldn't get it to work. That's all I know about that. If you can find a way to get more VC control in these apps, that would be mighty fine with me! jendand |

A round of applause to you for coming back and letting us know it was the memory card causing the problems. I had thought about that being the case very briefly, but then seen it was happening on your friends phone so I dismissed that as a possibility. However, now I understand you were likely sharing the sound card to test playing the music on it. God that was confusing. One more thing to test, unless someone responds otherwise, is to see if the low battery warning kills the current phone conversation. I'm on a different rom right now, but this disconnect problem is really making me rage.

What's in a name? That which we call a genius by any other name would be just as smart. I beat up Sprint and all I have to show for it is this lousy When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets I was out hacking with the ppcgeeks. |

I'm not a rabid campaigner for Mobipocket, but it definitely has the advantage over MS Reader of allowing for the downloading of secure books directly to the device without going through the PC. At least on one of the book sites, MS Reader is disabled for auto readback of secure books. Mobipocket is smaller (1.6 compared to 2.3 mb). And Mobipocket is used extensively on fictionwise and ebooks.com, the two places where I get most of my books. (Mobipocket seems to be the "recommended" reader on Fictionwise.) However, all of that being said, I won't be terribly disappointed if MS Reader gets the green light ...
Here's the link to the manual install download site for Mobipocket (something else you cannot do with MS Reader; that is, install the reader without a PC!): http://www.mobipocket.com/en/Downloa...ualInstall.asp Thanks, jendand |

Raging Idiot: Exactly right on the SD card. my friend's got one of the phones with the super-spring in it. The last time he saw his SD card, it was launching itself out of the phone and overboard while bass fishing. He was showing off the phone to the guy he was fishing with. The demonstation was less than effective.
