FYI for Button 5

After I did the reinstall of VC per pgdeaner, button 5 fix was required. I've attached thread with info so those that need it won't have to search.

saridnour ... nice job on this rom, thanks!

How do you turn them off? There is nothing in remove apps, I didnt see anything in the program list for wisbar. I have never really used it. I guess I should have messed with it some more before I gave up. Maybe I will reload it again later and play around with it. Right now I just downloaded Helmi's 3.5 Kitchen and made my own basic ROM installed it and just installed the cab programs that I needed. Now I am in the process of figuring out how to add the programs I want on the phone into the ROM so if I have to reinstall it will save me some time.

Also is it only from the soft button or from the link?

No, I didn't restore from a backup. Now I'm having trouble hard resetting. Every time I try, it just soft resets. I'm holding both soft buttons on the side and doing the soft reset at the same time. ??? Yes, the flickering contacts problem is with both soft button and the link. Unable to test the bluetooth fix right now, but I'll do that later. Thanks!

VC working after reinstall as well, but internet sharing not

Thanks as well from me to pgdeaner, I reinstalled the VC 1.6 and voila, bluetooth VC is working! Fantastic since we have no smartdial. I'd rather VC than smart dial anyways.

I still however cannot make the Internet Sharing work. Follwed directions above and as soon as I click connect on the Apache, the usb connection goes away.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps the next version will find some resolution on this one.

xxfwmxx: Items you place in the Rom can be used or not, its up to you. Unless they are set to run at startup "\windows\startup" they need to be launched by you. Most apps have an option in th UI to enable or disable them at startup if they are used along with the os (like wisebar or xcpuscalar). By not having them load your not using them Also since they are in the ROM, your not wasting storage space so again, no loss in having them there even if not used. I never use pExcel or pPPT, they are just in the rom because I could and others wanted them. Since it was a default shipping app I left them. Again, no space wasted

Good luck with your rom BTW..
Read the forum on the space and speed threads for some details of making it better. The more you get in the rom the better. Watch your storage space as you should be able to get most everything in a ROM and only use a few meg of it. Remeber shortcuts or things copied out of windows will take up space. My rom when used out of the box is under 3meg of storage once synced and about 5 after my other apps (like flexmail).

Would you be willing to elaborate on that?

I would love to be able to totally optimize my base 3.5 kitchen before cooking my rom.

jendand: I think I see your problem. DO NOT USE the images information to hard reset, it is wrong! To hard reset press both soft buttons (on the face of the unit by the 4-way) at the same time and hit the reset button. It should prompt you with a Yes No to clear message.

bacspasm: If you re-installe dvc, you will have button 5 issues (see the thread for a fix) just an fyi. Also your masking bits in the ROM and taking upo storage soace. Use Total commander and hide files in rom, then delete all the vc file except voicecommand.exe as this will free the m from the storage memeory.

master_shake: look at the thread 3.3 vs 3.5 cf2 spred (or simialr named) it should have the main reg fixes listed. I also cleaned out the cf .net v1 infor from the devie and reg. as well as cleaned out other unneeded files from the windows dir.

I can not get v3.5pr4 to run on my sprint 6700.

I ran the install, then hard reset, and after hitting "Y" then SPACE to boot - it immediately switches to a screen that says "USB" "V2.02".

Nothing else happens. I've tried multiple times, installing, hard resetting.
Please keep in mind I'm Raging Idiot.

Raging Idiot, sounds like your stuck in bootloader .... hard reset is hold both softkeys while pressing reset with stylus ... if that doesn't work here a thread to checkout:

Yep. I've installed several versions of the various ROMs over the last few days. I figured if I kept trying to fix something that wasn't broken that I'd eventually break it.
