Saridnour, I am having an issue when I am trying to customise your rom further.

When I go to convert the Default.txt to Default.hv

I get this error.

I converted \Windows\ to \\Windows\\, this did the trick. There were also issue at line 13041, I converted to \\Windows\\ but now I am hitting a hitch on line 93 in user.txt Could you take a look after line 93 in user.txt

Also one more quick question will it effect anything if I let the full VZW extrom install? Like I said prev I am new to this and not really sure how to go back and select certain things to install and not sure what I should keep and not to keep. I am currently running Helmi's AKU 3.3 ROM and I let the full extrom load and everything seems to be running fine. Are the new DST Time changes already in place with this AKU or do I need to install the MS cab to fix it.

I am running your pr4 any chance I could get the reg tweaks that you have found for speed and anything I can do manually. I just got pr2 the way I want and don't want to upgrae just yet. TIA

Everything works great except I can't get the wireless modem to work. Try to connect via bluetooth to my laptop to use phone as modem to access internet. The laptop does not recognize the phone having the dial-up networking capabilities. nor do the boxes light up on the wmodem screen on xv6700. Any ideas how to get this working?

I've been following these custom roms for a while now. Tried a 3.3 a couple of days ago without good success (not yours). Kept locking up. I installed your 3.5 pr4 tonight. It is working very well. Really fast. No lockups. Had just a couple of problems:

1. Contacts are there as I can voice dial with VC 1.6. But when I click on "Contacts" it just flashes the contact page for a split second and is gone. The page looks empty.

2. Your fix for the A2DP works great! No skipping for the first time in my experience. One little problem, however. I can not start Voice Command by pressing the button on my headphones. When I try, I just get static. I can start Voice Command by pressing No. 5 button on my phone and then I can use the headphones to enter commands.

3. I am surprised to have only 16 MB left in my storage memory. The only program I've installed is SKtools and I put that on my storage card. And as per your instructions, I put the VC 1.6 exe file in Windows. Shouldn't I have more memory than that?

I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining! Looks to me like you're well on your way to a really solid custom 3.5. I truly appreciate your work -- and all the other contributors, too!

I would take the \windows\ out of those reg entries where they appear in the names, values are ok as long as they are double backslash \\. The alternative is to keep them but make them \\, but you're going to have to fix this every time you rebuild because if you decode the hives in rgucomp and try to rebuild, you're going to get the same errors in the exact same keys.

I think someone may have been a little overzealous when they built some of the OEM packages. The names of the values should really be the same regardless of where the application is, it's the values that should change.

As for that one entry in the user.hv file, I suspect it should look like this:

xxfwmxx: You can not uninstall anything in the rom. You can disable them from running and/or not from start. They do not take up any storage space so there is no reason to worry about them taking up space. The trial period varies on the product so you would have to check with their authors. On your second question, The rom should be carrier indeoendent. I am not a vzw guy and do not know tha specifics of what to install. I would look at other threads for this. I do know that some cabs can install bits older than what is in the rom and could cause isses. But what worked in 3.3 roms should aslo wor here.

walterdo: look at the 3.5 vs 3.3 speed thread. This has the core changes that are possible without re-flashing.

mark: I do not have a bt on my laptop to test, but have been told this was not working on any of the 3.5 roms. Use usb, this works and also keeps your phone powered/charged.

jendand: 1-I have no issues with my contacts page, any 3rd party apps installed? can anyone else confirm the porblem? 2-Iwill have to lok at this, it was not an issue on earlier roms as I could tell. You could try removing the bt quality keys. Both the quality key and its root can be removed, let me know if this helps. 3-Look at the files install and calculate their size, or uninstall and look at the chages. The base should only be about 3 megs.

isamu49: good call, it is a / vs // issue as whan the hives are extrated they are not converted correctly as was discussed in the thread I posted about earlier.

I'm having the same problem Jendand had with my contacts softkey. When I click on it, it will flash the contacts screen for a split second then it goes back to the today screen. I also can't sync my contacts into the phone now, it keeps giving me an error saying there is not enough memory on the phone, and I have it pretty stripped down. I'm not sure what I'm missing here, and ideas?
