thedocrn: either extract the voicecommand.exe from your vc cab, or install the app and make a copy of it. Then do a hard reset then just copy your saved backed-up voicecommand, exe to the windows folder then install the rest of your setup (would not recomend using spb backup or the ike to restore as it could add/remove undesirables.
jvcjbl: Try the rom without adding anything back to it and see if you still have issues. If not, slowly and one at a time, add what your using back in and test inbetween. I am not sur eof the latest bits for the vzw roms (radio and extended) but I am sure they are posted on here or post a not requesting the latest working and recomended bits -saridnour |

voice command
I just copied the voice command exe from the program files\voice command directory on my old install to the SD card then flashed. When it was done I copied the exe into the windows directory and ran it once. It will put the startup shortcut back for you when you run it. Then Soft Reset and you're done.

Swapped out my batteries which has nothing to do with anything on the phone as far as software... but not I can't get into the phone options menu. It says ,"Phone is unavailable please try again in 15 seconds". It has said this since the battery swap, not even soft resetting it will fix it.

I copied the .exe into \windows. After a soft reset I still get the message "Voice command has encountered a prob, please restart and try again" Searching \windows\startup reveals there is no voice command.lnk Even if I replace it with a saved one the new one gets wiped out. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help so far |

After a hard-reset, I installed MS VC. Then I went to the \windows folder on the device, copied the "voicecmd.exe" file to my storage card. Did another hard-reset, then (w/o installing anything this time), simply copied the "voicecmd.exe" from the storage card to the \windows folder. On a related note, my button 5 for MS VC didn't work at first. I don't use the notes feature, which is assigned to 5 (Press & Hold). I changed 5 (Press & Hold) to VJCandelaLite, and now I have a flashlite when I press&hold, and tapping button 5 brings up the microphone for VoiceCommand. - RX8 - |

PR2 Experience so far...
Since I knew I was going to upgrade to PR2, I just saved my EXE files to my PC beforehand and just replaced those files with Saridnour's files after I dumped his ROM to a folder (I also deleted his themes and replaced 'em w/ my favorites). That worked well. Of course, you don't have to go through all that, but the point is to save those files before you do any flash upgrades (saves you from doing multiple hard resets).
So, far this ROM (PR2) has worked great for me. I upgraded on Wednesday night, and I haven't really noticed it slower than 3.3 with .Net2.0 installed... I did however, experience my one and only (so far) DSOD this morning. I had to take my SD card out for a sec so that the phone would turn on (I had left it charging overnight). [File Explorer doesn't see the SDmemory.dll file. But I haven't tried to modify the Suspend states in the Registry yet] Anyone else had this happen?
