If this is true, then this isn't a very good baseline ROM. We need a new, cleaner build, one with EVERYTHING default. Alternatively, is there ANY way to go back to the default dialpad when you don't have anything to uninstall? |

Yes the dialer skins do work, however it is all in how they are applied and what addtions are made to the phone.
The skin that comes with the kitchen IS the SKIN msft ships with the 3.5 AKU. Integrating that skin into a carriers implementation is an OEM and NOT the responsibility of the kitchen. If you goto the Kitchen OEM discussion thread you will find there that shettj created an OEM that actually makes all the NECESSARY Sprint customizations to the phone as an add-on to the rom. Currently I have a ROM that does NOT need to run any sprint customizations after a hard-reset, the ##codes work just fine, nor do I have any sd memory issues. ALL I DO to make that work is apply shettj's OEM to the kitchen, and NOT let any of stock sprint CAB's from extended rom apply. I suggues that you review first several pages of the 3.5 kitchen thread, find shett's package, apply it and retry.

I can't get the ## codes to work on my Sprint 6700 either. With 3.3 I could add a new dialer skin, then remove it using "Remove Programs," and that would allow ## codes. But I tried that with this 3.5 and no dice, none of the ## codes work.
I saw the discussion of the Sprint Customization OEM but I haven't seen it offered for download. I assume it's available on the geek's FTP site, what's the file called? On another note I want to thank Naigaboy for the help getting USB internet sharing working. Rob |

Yep, the ##keys are not working - they are in the registry
This is what they do: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\PhoneExt\KeyProgram] "Key9"="#3424" "Prog9"="DMRouter.exe" "Key8"="#33284" "Prog8"="FieldTrial.exe" "Key7"="4357" "Prog7"="EPST.exe #4357" "Key6"="#775" "Prog6"="EPST.exe ##775" "Key5"="#3282" "Prog5"="EPST.exe ##3282" "Key4"="#7738" "Prog4"="EPST.exe ##7738" "Key3"="#2539" "Prog3"="EPST.exe ##2539" "Key2"="#8626337" "Prog2"="EPST.exe ##8626337" "Key1"="#786" "Prog1"="EPST.exe ##786" "Postfix"="#" "Key0"="#778" "Prog0"="EPST.exe ##778" "Prefix"="#" So, its easy enough to just make some shortcuts to run the programs above. I'll try and make em today |

Schettej,
Is the non-unicode Sprint OEM offered for download on page 1 of the "Kitchen OEMs" thread your most up-to-date Sprint OEM? Is the MSL code just a registry entry like the other codes you list above? Thanks again for all your hard work. Rob |
|

It looks like it is (The sprint OEM) and the reg entries are in. The MSL is not in the registry, its part of the hardware of the radio.

YES! I created a shortcut using "\windows\EPST.exe" ##778, and it works! Thank you!! Regarding the kitchen ROMs, where's the love for us VZW XV6700 users? Actually I think I'm good now. I never load anything from the extended ROM, so there's really no kitchen OEM that would do me any good, correct? I've only got one minor issue that bothers me in 3.5. For some reason after a soft reset, my phone displays "extended network" for a minute or two before switching to Verizon. This never occurred before. Any ideas why? |
