What should I start with? I'm using all the files and tools from ImCokeMan's R2 package. I swapped out the NK.nbf file with the one from tonight. Is this not right?

Should I be doing something differently?

eh? don't know what you mean.

But let me give u some quick run down of how it supposed to be.

So you got your kitchen right, assuming CreateOS.exe successfully built (a Temp folder will be created), and then you run the CreateROM.bat file. This will turn your Temp\dump folder into a nk.nba file. You then need to get this nk.nba (need to rename it to nk.fat) file and decode using the prj file I posted on page 3 of this thread. Once you've done encoding, you will have a working nk.nbf file. This is what you can use to flash your 6700 with the _noID.exe upgrade utility.

I suggest that you look at those stickies threads and learn more about the concept of flashing ROM first before you attempt cooking your own ROM.

I know how to flash. I've flashed everything from AKU 2.2-3.3-3.5. What I am trying to figure out is how to get my CreateOS.exe to not give me that error(still waiting on that download u linked me to) and then where it is creating that nk.nbf file from exactly? Mid-air or from what the other folders such as OEM has in it?

I'm gonna PM you.

Tiny note: you can make the paths in the prj file look like ".\nk.fat" (no quotes).

Also something to keep an eye on is they have a kitchen project over on buzzdev that's evolved to what they call a "2.0" version. It's looking pretty nice, but needs some clearer documentation. The one's that have been built here seem to be based on the predecessor.

I personally dislike the smart dialing feature. The drop down got in my way and I hated it. LOL

So missing it won't be a big cut for me.

It's basically an empty shell with all the tools and won't run right out of the box like the kitchen packages we have (it's only 4.5 MB). It's also designed for some device called a Mitac Mio A70x (whoops, the guy is Scoter, not the device) In any case, the tools are basically the same, but the process for building packages looks like it's a bit different and who knows, it may not even be workable. I figure the people who seem to enjoy putting together these kitchens may like to have a look.
