I got Helmi's AKU 3.5 Rom Kitchen to work(NO USB)

AKU 3.5 is now fully working, the details are in this thread:
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/fully-workin...ion-t2801.html

You can also check below for the patched version (R3) of the kitchen with some of my customizations.

Below is the old post (with some additions):
WARNING: Do NOT use this ROM if you are not comfortable flashing your device. It is in no way guaranteed to be a stable rom at this point, however aside from the noted issues it has been working well for me for the past few days.

Please read the entire post before determining if this ROM is right for you

Ok now for the fun stuff...

Here is a working version AKU 3.5 based on the methods given by helmi_c it is in beta testing mode at the moment.

To create this kitchen i used Helmi's 3.3 apache kitchen and swapped the OS and LOC folders with one of his 3.5 kitchens. At that point it was time for serious troubleshooting! I have most of the kinks worked out, but now i'm opening it up for others.

I haven't had enough time to fix the USB support though (It does connect in bootloader mode). Activesync and file access via USB do not work (probly not teathering either, but i didn't try) Wireless sync works though so to sync contacts i suggest using mail2web before flashing then you can use that later to get them back.

Enjoy!

UPDATE: USB patch has now been applied to an R3 version:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/ImCoKeM...CoKeMaN_R3.zip

For sprint users who want it all and know how to use it an nk.nbf for the fixed rom with schett's sprint customizations has been posted as well:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/ImCoKeM...int_nk.nbf.zip

Once again USE CAUTION it's BRAND NEW.
Standard rules apply:
Be in bootloader first (dark screen says USB)
hard reset after (white screen press Y to clear mem space to boot)

Thanks to schettj there is a summary of this topic on the wiki here:
http://wiki.ppcgeeks.com/index.php?t...roubleshooting

Issues: (these have been fixed now)

No USB support: I know about this one and this is my sole focus right now. USB does not connect with the PC (except in bootloader). This means activesync does not work for your contacts. In the meantime you can sync to mail2web before upgrading and then you will be able to get your contacts after you flash AKU 3.5 since wireless sync does work. For file transfer i use a usb adapter for the mini sdcard as a workaround now also.

Timesync: Yes i've gone through this too. I have an updated ImCoKeMaN OEM.zip file on the ftp with this fixed. The reg entry is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA]
"SyncSystemTime"=dword:00000001

Bluetooth: The previous bluetooth/VC issues should be fixed now thanks to Helmi!! I have included the patches in the R2 version of the kitchen and the packages are also downloadable from the FTP (e658c544-26bf-45ac-a458-2044a5d1e698.zip and wavedev.dll_helmi.zip).

The FTP appears to be asking for a username & password.

Can you please, at least, include the MSN files/directories and instructions for those of us fools who actually would rather have it still on the machine?

Its up and running.

I have a cab file that automatically setup my email as part of the ext_rom, and so, after setting the time it active synched to the mail server OTA and updated everything. So far so good. Call work, and call interrupted the data connection as well.

Now to add some of the performance tweaks colenel put in to make it work faster/better.....

I'm using it right now, but it does not seem to have any usb at all.

Yes I can sync OTA to my exchange server, but not USB simply aint being recognized at this point.

Can you share the contents of the cab file (obviously not your personal info)? I would like to set one up for myself as well since I seem to be re-flashing every couple days now with all the new updates to try.
Thanks!
