Is that the beta 3 or still 2? |

I have actually gotten MMS installed, but I am running into issues with the "MMS Configuration" option in the poutlook menu disabling the Mark All As Read. I will work this out tomorrow and have another nbk up by tomorrow night. Everything else seems to be looking good. A few more things to add and fix and I should be done. Still need to look into the PAN\DUN stuff. |

There is no fun in waiting. Just flash what you have\get and do it again in an hour  . Plus, I get to know about the things I miss/change on accident.
|
Also, I really want to get the PAN\DUN issue cleared up. As I have stated, I do not have a laptop to test with. Has anyone had success with what Bushrod posted about the included app?

Thanx Colonel. |
Ran into errors, I couldn't find on this thread.
Hello everyone. I just installed Colonel's AKU 3.3 Beta 2. It installed just fine but ran into several issues. I did a search but it turned up nothing. Maybe I'm just too new at this forum... but I couldn't find it.
Here it is. (1) Upon start-up, I get an error that saids, "The file 'SDDAEMON' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file. (2) I have ActiveSync 4.2 and I tried to put my stuff back on. I get an error "There is not enough free memory on your device to synchronize information. Close programs that are running to free up memory, or restart device. I did both. I also upgraded to ActiveSyce 4.5 beta. No relief. (3) When I go into "Contacts", although empty, it opens up, then shuts down immediately! I can't go in to enter a new entry? Well, that's what I came up with. I would love to find a solution to this as I have over 500 contacts I need to get back into my phone. : ( Thanks! |
You probably did not do a complete hard reset after install. Press both soft keys and the reset button. A white screen should come up asking you to press Y.
|
wideawake...
thank you!!!!! I got the file.... da_hammer |
quick noob question before i start. I just want to make sure I do this right .
My 6700 is Sprint branded. Is this the only file I need to download and run on order to get AKU 3.3 on my phone with the no junk ext rom Colonel3.3beta2SprintNoJunkExtRom.zip And the phone needs to be in boot loader to start. Is this correct? Da_hammer |
okay, as a noobie, i've read every post in this thread, and searched for the phrase 'how to put into bootloader mode: and can't find an answer. i'm getting a replacement 6700 next week, and have taken this flu-time to 'play' with the broken one, and flashed htc's official apache upgrade, and am comfortable installing the latest from the colonel, but, how do i put it into bootloader mode? i remember reading, just before the phone tries to install sprint's customization, soft reset then?
Please, I would love to do this tonight. |
da_hammer, yes that is correct. You also might want to hard reset before the install. This is not critical, but might help avoid any issues. Definitely hard reset after the install.
1Oddmanout, to put in bootloader mode, press the power button (on top next to SD slot), record button (left side top with cassette on it) and reset button at the same time. The screen should darken and say Serial at the top. |
very good....i will give it a go then..... thank u..

O2 Plus
I can't get O2 plus to fire off any of the scheduled profile changes. Does anyone else see this?
|
thanks fo rthe rapid answer; wow, i'd have never thunk of all that. Hard reset, bootloader mode, then sync up and run your .exe file?
|
raymond, check out the O2plus thread here in the forums. Some of your questions were answered I think. If I remember correctly, you have to wait a bit and then soft reset to get the scheduled actions to occur. Also, I believe that if you select any sort of "Divert" the event will not run.
1oddmanout, first hard reset is optional. If you have the time, it doesn't hurt. Then bootloader mode and place on cradle. The darkened screen should now say USB. Then run .exe. Ignore what the installer tells you to do at the end and just do a hard reset. |
so cool; i'm ready!! talk with ya in about an hour
|
just wanted to confirm the file ColonelsCustom.rar is the beta 2.. or is only the no junk sprint/version versions beta 2 ? thanks..
also another question, i installed helmi's aku 3.3.. what difference's would there be in flashing the phone with this rom.. i just wanted to know as it was a bit*h having to re-install all my apps and shit.. thanks, ReDz |
WOW!!! it all works and only took a few moments? it's installing all the cabs now; more in a few. PPC670 is the greatest!
|
I am absolutely floored! So many programs, that i don't even know what to do with them, but i'm ecstatic that they're there. THANK YOU Colonel! I installed the no-sprint-junk edition as a test, and once i get my new one, will install it on that. Wow!!
|
I have had my 6700 for a wek or so now and have flashed to Beta2 several days ago.
Got to say I am impressed LOTS, and thank all especially Colonel for his work and such a super update. I am a bell mobility user and have had no trouble getting things to work. Thanks again, looking forward to B3 and eventually cooking my own |

hey paul, which rom update did you install? |
1oddmanout and PaulFix, glad you guys like it :D
PaulFix, if you can get the Bell Extrom to me, I can include packaged installers for Bell with the next beta |
Quote:
When will you post the beta3 nk.nbf? kdoweb |
I can have another nknbf up in a few minutes. I need a Verizon user to check and see if their ExtRom changes MMS settings in the rom back to Verizon settings.
|
just wanted to confirm this does work on telus based 6700's?
|
It does, however, you will want to follow the instructions in the first thread regarding extracting the installer so you do not install the Sprint or Verizon ExtRom. Really, the best thing to do is to get the latest Telus official upgrade and extract it too. Then just take the ms.nbf from the extracted Telus installer and paste it into the extracted Custom installer. Then just run the MaUpgrade utility.
Also, if you do this second option, could you please zip and send me the ms.nbf from the Telus official upgrade so I can package installers for Telus in the future. This would save a bunch of time. I just haven't gotten around to doing it. |

ok, i'm following your instructions and getting it done right now... where and how can i send you that file? do you got msn?
ReDz |
colonel, so i tried your directions but that didn't work.. i extrated original latest telus rom update and your 3.3 custom update to folders, replaced the ms_.nbf file. when i would run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe it would quickly goto the screen which tells you what you have currently on your phone and what will be installed but nothing is listed on this page.. when i remove telus's ms_.nbf file and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe then it lists colonel 3.3 etc etc ... something in the telus file is not letting me complete this...
ReDz |
Were you in bootloader mode? If you are, it will not tell you what you have on the phone, but it will tell you what is being installed.
|
yeah i was in bootloader mode.. when i put the telus file into the directory and ran the update it wouldn't list anything for the details of whats being installed.. removed the telus file and all is well.. so what i did was install the telus update.. remove the ppc from the doc.. as i was still in boot loader i installed your update.. hard reset the ppc .. upon startup it instaled all the telus things and now i have your update with my telus setting and the phone is still roaming?
how do i get the phone to stop roaming? |
I got it working with the Bell 2.11.710 WWE ExtRom. Let me know what I need to send to you for you to make the packages.
Thanks again for all the effort ! |
Phone behavior in fringe areas
Anyone else notice that with the new rom, the XV6700 does very poorly in fringe coverage areas? For example, I normally get 1-2 bars of service inside my house with 2.2 but with 3.3 I have 3-4 bars but can't even dial voicemail without the phone going from 3 bars to searching for service.
I have not problems at work where I have full strength no matter where I am. |
anyone know what i can do to get my phone to stop roaming?
|
Redz, I would suggest reinstalling the latest official telus update. This will get you back to square one. Then you can test to see if you are still roaming with the official rom. If you are, then you may have other issues.
