I used zphone skins because of compatability with phone features and glad to see eten is now as good. Latest skin I had was I believe is a zphone type, feature loaded and 1meg unzipped, but I am trying your skin suggestion and like it. Specifically some "differently skinned" buttons so I'm keeping this. My question is where is the folder I dont see where it's installed, and can you direct me to where to find more with full compatability like ths.. The skin I used is from here: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...ight=DavidGelb In anycase a nice phone SKINS in the rom would be great! Edit: both seem 2 have same features. |
OnLock also causes my phone to crash. I activate it, hit the power button, press the power button a few seconds later and am greeted by a white screen every time. I haven't came across any other issues I could get to repeat themself - seems pretty stable IMO.
I can't believe I never used O2 before - this thing is fantastic! I love the crossbow sounds as well. The flashlight comes in handy...definitely beats having to start the camera app when I drop my stylus haha. Not to get OT, but someone mentioned a few pages ago he wanted to see the Black47 theme http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/unithemes/black47/?en in the ROM. I couldn't help but check this one out and thought it was great. Real nice dialer and today theme once you change the colors of the top/bottom bars, if you're into the dark colored themes.[/url] |

________ SICK FROM AVANDIA |
Not exactly sure where it installs, but at first i assumed it copied over the same existing files in the windows directory, but when it uninstalls the original files come back. Thats as much as i can figure out for now.
http://www.paulya.com/dialerskins.htm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263579 I was at both of those sites. The first led me to the other. The eten skin by itself will now align but somehow the black paulya skin i was trying to use didnt align and i kept working at it. Finally got potrait to align and then i looked at landscape and went f$%k, gotta do all this again for that too. I decided to read more from XDA website and found several more and thats where i picked it up from. They had the same pic & vid prob we had, which was no prob, but the functions not working, that took all 32 pages of thread to find out. |

ClassicBlack is nice--thanks for posting.
Todd/Indy EDIT: Actually, ClassicBlack is a great fit with the default dialer, call history, and WMP skins in colonel's 3.3 beta2 |
Is there a way to configure the Last Call today plugin to display 12hr time instead of 24hr time? Ideally its setting should match the PPC's setting, no?
Todd/Indy |
My SD card keep disappearing on Beta 1 & Beta 2 as well as the EVDO connection cutting off on its own as well. I also can't make a phone call when that happens either. This happens about 2-3x per day. One minute the phone will be fine and then the next this scenario. I don't know what is causing it.

Modularize?
Quote:
|
Yes you can. when you go to total commander, first of all make sure that the the date of the file is 8/1or30/06 (cant remember for sure). take the memory card out then delete it. if that doesnt work, still with sd card out rename it to sdmemory.dll.bak then delete it. do the same thing with qct.dll. let me know if that works.

I just do the SDMemory one and have no issues. Next release will have the proper ExtRom with this fix in it already.

Can anyone post the complete path to the default windows home page we had in the stock 3.3 rom? I found it useful and would like to add a favorite for it.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's: file://\Windows\default_0409.htm Looks like colonel modded the name a bit to prevent it bein overwritten by anything in the extrom packages. Thanks, Todd/Indy |

On the working one the ExtRom didn't execute but I think it was a file attribute problem... No biggie there. Gonna start fresh tonight though with your newest ROM and pull out what I don't want. That worked for me until I (apparently) pulled out something it needs... Thanks! Looking forward to it. BTW: Is there some HOWTO somewhere on using files from a ROM dump and making modules with them? One more question; how easy and/or doable is it to dump a device and use some of the proggies from that device's ROM? Case in point; the Remote Control proggie on a Samsung i730 is NICE! I want to add it to my 6700 ROM. Can that be done? Thanks! |
I deleted all 3 dll files at first, then i tried them in combinations and then with each one. I ended up finding out i was more comfortable with the qct and sdmemory being deleted. phone was more stable and fuctioned better with all my programs. For some reason, i cant find the post that said what each of them did. it was still stable just with the sdmemory deleted though. so thats a safe choice.

This has the SDMemory.dll removed.

go to remove programs and check if it shows up in there, if it does remove it and you should have the original back. Or better yet let colonel answer this as he knows exactly where he put it. I dont have beta2 installed yet so i cant tell exactly where it is installed.
BTW colonel i checked out the phone skin, it was close to what i had originally, but still light. Also i prefer the one i have cos it has bigger touch pads and bigger picture. i think i saw someone with the same smartdial prob, going to read up on it and see if i can fix that for you. |
Love the beta!
Had one small problem. On the first attempt the contacts application wouldn't launch when selected. It wouldn't sync either. A simple hard reset and everything worked. Thanks for the effort, this is great! |

When I looked on their website all I saw was a product that looks like TomTom and nothing to be loaded on the PPC. Is this something you use on the PPC or a stand alone unit? If a stand alone unit does it plug into the PPC? How exactly does it work? Thanx |
Haven't really gotten to check this out, but since installing this PPC is running really smooth, even though my avail RAM is 19. Only thing I installed extra was CityID/SKTools. Before I was running at least 27 RAM free and was not running this smooth at all. Guess I'm a happy camper for now!
:-) |
The Beta 2 ROM is spledid! Awsome work colonel. All the extra goodies and the smoothness of the ROM overall is just brilliant. I really hate Sprint for not releasing this into the wild sooner... ah well though, I'm a sucker and I'll have the HTC Titan ( PPC 6800 ) as soon as it comes out most likely. :D
On to the problems side, aside from the bluetooth not staying synced from the BT Toggle ( to listen to music and play SNES/NES emulators at work here at Sprint... shhhh :P ) and the SD card coming unsynced every once in awhile, all is good. Although perhaps you've already solved these problems so I'll read around when I have a bit more time. Just wanted to say how pleased I am before I go to work. |
For me, I could rename SDMemory.dll just fine, but I couldn't delete it until I took my SD card out of the slot.
Also: Does anyone know why having the SD Card in takes up ~10MB of program memory? I wouldn't mind, but Netfront likes to eat up a lot of memory and it's kind of running low with VC installed. |
kdoweb, are you running XV or PPC-6700? If XV I think we can start with something related to the Sprint extrom being the culprit with iGuidance problems.
Todd/Indy |
Here are my system specs, for the iGuidance problems:
Sprint PPC6700 iGuidance 3.01 - Running on my miniSD iBlue Bluetooth GPS iGuidance crashes when I touch the screen while I am in full screen mode. The ppc top and bottom bars show up for a milisecond and then iGuidance just goes in the crapper. |
Quote:
Sprint PPC6700 iGuidance 3.00 - Running on main memory (upx'd to 3???k) holux 236 Bluetooth GPS |
My iGuidance 3.0.1 crashes when the top/bottom bars disappear on their own when I start moving. It'll sit there just fine with the bars visible as long as I'm not in motion.
Anybody start a support ticket with iNav on this? I know they'll tell us to bite wind since it's not an "official" rom. Todd/Indy |
Anyone know of a reg edit or other option that will allow threaded sms to give vibration or some sort of sound notification on the new ROM?
|
DUN
I thether my Sprint 6700 a lot. Will the switch to this update affect it? Will Sprint now know that I'm tethering?
|
Can those with iGuidance problems check to see if their program was UPXed? If so try without it.
Also can you switch and try smaller or different maps? That's all I can think of. |

My iGuidance not UPX'ed unless new installs are UPX'ed automatically in the background with 3.3 beta2.
