Re: Data Connection Not Working

glad it worked on the messenging......as for the data connect....i am just going blank...I have also noticed that you are not the only one with issues on the data connect.

Here is a link with Alltel people...maybe you can chime in and relay your problem.

Re: Data Connection Not Working

Don't know if this will help or not. I had my data connection die about two months ago. The Alltel support center was able to determine that no data was coming out of the phone. They said the phone was dead and to replace it. I reflashed the phone and no luck. I reflashed the radio to 1.43 and voila it worked perfect and is still working.

The support center should at least be able to tell you if the phone is transmitting data.

Good luck

Re: Data Connection Not Working

i just did the same thing had a sprint 6700 activated on alltel...had voice and text but no data....the main thing you have to do is copy a valid dmu key from another phone...also the mobile ip settings have to be spot on...i can prolly tell you what the mobile ip settings should be but the tricky part is the dmu key...

Re: Data Connection Not Working

I did email alltel, they said no data was coming from the phone. Nothing about replacing it. I did upgrade to 1.43 radio in hopes it would work but nope.

Where would I get a key from? Alltel or another apache? Also, where can I check the mobile IP settings and what should they be?

Re: Data Connection Not Working

ok do the ##778 and enter 000000 edit...up in the right hand corner is a drop down menu deal...go to security it should have a place for hdr login...its "yournumber@alltel.net" your pass is your ESN with cap letters...try connecting after you change that let me know if it doesnt work...oh your phone will reset when u save changes..if that doesn't work ill tell you how to get to mobile ip and what it should have...

Re: Data Connection Not Working

i believe its more like specfic accounts have certain dmu key...its called 10.key and what it does it fills in the ha and shared secret keys...which one is alltel and the other is like 14 or so random characters..its a security feature for alltel evdo...if you have a phone already with evdo just copy the 10.key file and that will fix it thats what i did...and make sure the hdr login and password is what i posted earlier

Re: Data Connection Not Working

Does the dmu key have to be from another pocketpc? I only have the one but I do have other phones on the account which are Razrs.

Re: Data Connection Not Working

if the razrs have evdo i think you prolly could use it the dmu key is like what allows you to get evdo...so if you had another phone u were using before that had evdo you could copy the dmu key to your ppc but i dont think you can copy one from a phone currently in use as i think they are different for each phone number or whatever i could be wrong...if i am im sure someone will point it out lol...im just telling you what worked for me...someone told me when i was trying to set mine up that the dmu key automatically fills in all the security info for evdo so you can connect. So i think its like the main component to getting data to work in addition to the right mobile ip settings...
