Re: Data Connection Not Working

It is absouletly humiliating to admit how stupid i am, but i've been following your thread carefully becasue i have the same problem with my apache, but i cant even begin to tell you how totally lost i am. You say to do ##778, but i dont even know where to do that! I have no idea how to get into the registry to change the settings there and would really really appreciate a bit more explaination! i think after i figure that out i can basically follow what your instruction are.

Re: Data Connection Not Working

How do I find out a DMU key from another phone? Also, what are these mobile IP settings I need.

brahamamamma, instead of dialing a phone number to call someone, u do the ##778 thing and a selection should come up, there you choose edit and the code should be 000000

Re: Data Connection Not Working

I did the ##778 but no selection came up. Nothing at all did. Also, when i get a text message it doesnt say who sent it, rather the first word of the message is in its place. Any help available fixing this?

did you flash your rom?? the only time i have seen that type of sms problem was in these forums, and it was casued by ppl failing to hard reset after flashing the rom, and also allowing their carrier customizations to run. if you are having this data problem after a flash that could have something to do with it (although i think the radio stack is it's own entity). either way, if you've flashed you may want to hard reset and see if you get the "customizing in 3..." type message. if you do hit the reset button with your stylus before they run. then let the device boot up and try it.
the only roms i've flashed have been helmi_c's and verizonguys. with vzg's i had to put my data info back in. with helmi's, as long as you choose your carrier in the kitchen, it builds them right in. i may be off base, but hey, worth throwing out there.
anyway, it's a thought.

Re: Data Connection Not Working

I had the same problem with no data. Here is how things were fixed by alltel over the phone. In the dialer ##000000 send. Make sure the MDN is your phone #. Go to connections. Alltel access link username is your#@alltel.net password is alltel. Now here is the important part. Make sure your old phone is off with the battery out then dial *228 on your apache. It worked for me and I hope helps you out.

Re: Data Connection Not Working

Yeah this fix is real easy.. I had to get the correct MDN and MSID from an alltel tech and then dialed ##000000 and edited the numbers accordingly then soft reseted and the password/username error is gone..

Just call 1800-alltel-1 and its options 3-3-3 to get to tech support.. they can walk you through it.. tell them that you want to make sure your MDN and MSID are correct if they seem to have no idea what you are talking aboit... they should be able to atleast tell you the numbers you need.

In my case the MDN was my phone number (10 digits), the MSID was another phone number - maybe the main server??? I dont know, it was a 276 area code #...

For some reason I cant dial ##000000 now.. but i could when I had this issue... hope that helps!

Re: Data Connection Not Working

Well, I have the same problem as well -- NO DATA.
And I am not even trying to do evdo, even 1x data does not work.
I don't understand, when does it use the credentials entered through ##778, versus the username and password you enter when creating a "New connection" (#777).
I always get "Error 37: Error setting up Mobile IP".

Cool Re: Data Connection Not Working

First of all, there is no user/pass needed under Connections. The only place the user/pass is stored is in EPST.

Who is still having issues with no data. There are a number of fixes for this. And I'd be glad to help all of you. The only thing I do wish you would do, would join the chatroom. It's easier to fix in realtime. If you can't, then we can do so here too.

1. The MSID, and the MDN are both supposed to be your ten digit phone number. Please dial ##000000 to check both of these for accuracy.
