Re mortscript - funny you should mention that

My own system running with unlocked extended rom on soft reset, will correctly load the CF card (as "storage card") but apps installed on the card are not "ready" yet when the Today screen is first drawn. What that means is the links to those files show up with generic icons, which is really noticable if you use any today app launcher that shows icons...

So I did the same kinda thing - I added a mortscript that sleeps 25 seconds, then does the Today refresh action:

Code:
Sleep 25000
Run "\Program Files\smartskey\TodayRefreshCmd.exe"
TodayRefreshCmd.exe is a freeware app.
http://winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/TodayRefreshCmd.exe

And sure enough, shortly after reboot, Today refreshes and all the icons are good

What I mean by disapears... Is that it is no longer avalible. Waiting even minutes does not change anything. Soft Reset with or without the SD card in the slot.

I Curenttly do not have my Ext Rom unlocked, and my Etx Rom has been re-hidden by adjusting the changed registry keys to make it visible.

FATFS flags have been set back to dword:44 (from my previous values that worked great on the 2.2 ROM).

Only thing I can think of to try now is to Hard Rest again and not apply any registy changes and only install my applications. And see what that does. And sometime tomorrow I would have to Soft Reset and see if my SD card stays.

Any other suggestions? ... I'm not Hard Resetting till latter this afternoon.

I also noticed that it sometimes takes a few (20 or so) seconds to come up once the phone is booted, so if I had something in startup that was installed to the SD card, I would get an error. I just used mortscript to pause 20 seconds, then run the links that are on the SD card. Put that script in the startup, and problems are gone.
Yeah I saw that happen right now too. I thought for sure the SD card was gone (again) and after pissing and moaning came back to the phone about a minute later and the sd card was there. Normally, never would have come back at all.

Here is what I had in startup (6 files): HTC_CM_Guardian; bizconn/mailwatcher.exe; bizconn/pushclient.exe; poutlook.exe; sddaemon.exe; and spbservices.exe. How does this list compare to others with the sd card problems?

Do you remember was the file name in this thread or the other? I searched for the file name you gave, but this thread is the only one with it and I couldn't find it anywhere. TIA

Can someone confirm that the removal of this itsutil file has incontravertably fixed the missing SD card problem.

And it seems that not everyone has this file in their root directory.

Why the difference?

Never mind... total N00b here, sorry...
Even though the device looks dead, I tried to connect and re-flash the sprint 2.0 AKU, and looks like it's working... hopefully this will revive my PPC again.

HELP !!!!

I tried to flash this AKU 3.3 image on my PPC, but now the PPC doesn't turn on anymore at all !!!

First I did bootmode thing: pressed power+notes+reset -> the PPC rebooted but with a blank screen -> being a novice I thought this was bootmode, but I'm not sure anymore.

Then I installed the AKU, it looked as it installed fine, and then the last screen asked me to hard-reset (power+reset). I did it, but the PPC screen went blank and doesn't turn on anymore !!!

I tried:
1) normal power
2) soft reset
3) hard reset
4) bootmode

Nothing works. Screen is BLANK and even if I connect it to USB to charge none of the lights will turn on nor will it be recognized by my PC.

If anybody knows whats going on please HELP - as it is it looks like my PPC is BRICKED !!!

Thanks in advance.

I willing to guess if you try another custom Extrom like Wideawake's "No_junk ExtRom" in 2.2 thread you will see a difference...
