Re: Disappearing SD card

itsutil should have been a text document in the root of the device that's what I was referring to remove not the .dll but let us know if it helps. Removing the txt document from there stopped most of my minisd problems.

I have been using a stock iGuidance 3.0 installation for several days now. I have had no problems or lock-ups at all. On Tuesday I had the programing running and in use for about 8 hours straight with no problems. I even had pocket player running in the background for a while with no hic-ups.

Thanks!

Just gotta give mad props to wideawake and Helmi C for bringing this to us.
I was way beyond scared to do this, but I bit the bullet last night and have not had a problem one. This is absolutely phenomenal.

Thanks again. Keep up the hard work, we all appreciate it sooo much.

Re: Thanks!

I would have to second that motion!!!! Kudos, props, three thumbs up, way to go, you da bomb, keep it real, keep up the good work, etc..etc...etc...

This upgrade is the very good. If I can overcome my sd card issue (minor annoyance), I will not ask for anything else. OK, I will ask for other stuff, but not the same day.

Thanks wide/helmi!!!!

Here is what I had in startup (6 files): HTC_CM_Guardian; bizconn/mailwatcher.exe; bizconn/pushclient.exe; poutlook.exe; sddaemon.exe; and spbservices.exe. How does this list compare to others with the sd card problems?

You know now that you mention it... I think the day after I unlocekd my Ext ROM I no longer had a SD Card... I had a bad install in my custom ROM I removed... It rebooted and lasted the night, but on reboot 2 or 3 (bad signal issues and a dead battery) my SD card was gone. I'm going to fix my Ext ROM and only leave the reg keys to unhide the Ext ROM and see how that does... I will NOT unlock it. If it comes back, I'll not unhide the Ext ROM (I store my common installs there that can't be placed in the Config.txt). I'll let you know.

Ok so I have gone a full day since my last hard reset, all my apps are back (fresh installs) all my normal hacks (still waiting on WideAwake to tell what else he had in the Custom 2.2) and the only thing I've done differently. I did not unlock the Ext ROM. It is unhidden though (thats where I leave my troubleshooting tools now since I always have SD issues). I am using the first unlocker avalible on xda for the wizard from almost a year ago now. Home this helps.

Ok... I spoke too soon. So the SD card disapears on the next day on the first reboot. I haven't been able to find the itsutil file... so now I'm back to guess work. No wonder I didn't notice last time, it litterly was after the first reboot of the next day after install.

Weird. My rom has been unlocked/unhidden since December. Post 3.3 upgrade, I am having no issues with the SD card disappearing and the extrom is still unlocked/unhidden.

When you say your SD card disappears, what exactly does that mean?

I don't soft reset often, maybe once a week or even every other week. Once or twice, after the phone came back up, the SD card was not available until I popped it out and then back in. Most of the time, it is there. I also noticed that it sometimes takes a few (20 or so) seconds to come up once the phone is booted, so if I had something in startup that was installed to the SD card, I would get an error. I just used mortscript to pause 20 seconds, then run the links that are on the SD card. Put that script in the startup, and problems are gone.
