my experence with the 3.3 upgrade
I started this bright and early Sunday morning, I D/Led the 3.3 rom, and read this thread and the bug thread to see what I was getting into.
I did the following, and have yet to run into a error using my apache. (I don't use Iguidance) 1. I started with my system at wideawake's 2.2 with my own trimmed up ext_rom 2. I backed up all the data on my phone to my PC that thought I would need (Custom skins, data files etc I use outlook so contacts were already taken care of) 3. then I formated the miniSD card 4. hard reset let that finish completelty. 5. installed the latest official Sprint rom let that install fully 6. installed helmi-Cs 3.3 and hard reset and let that install fully 7. unlocked the ext_rom Trimmed it back to what I want and hard reset again. 8. looked around and tested a few things make sure the system looks good. 9. called *2 and got the latest prl (that was fast!) 10. moved the .dlls for pic and vid. I don't use smart dial so didn't bother with that edit (tho it was working, and I had to disable it in the menu) 11. did a dozen or so appearance and usability reg edits (removing tray icons, disabling flight mode, etc) 12. installed more software than I thought I had (amazing how fast that stuff collects) Most to main memory (old habits die hard) 13. everything seemed good and stable and even annoyed a few friends making them contact me to test. 14. finally bit the bullet and unlocked ext_rom, backed up the cabs in there and installed voice command (and .net once I need it) to there to free up storage. 15. still works, and I am left with 21 meg storage 6.1 meg ext_rom free (for comparison I had ~14 megs free before ) The system seems faster over all, and the boot speed is noticeably faster only a couple seconds slower than my old cell phone. The whole process took me about 5 hours, including when my dog's tail hit my pc's power button (Mastiffs they are as dumb as the are big) One thing I did notice that program memory is using ~2-3 megs more than it did, and it seems that voice command is using almost a meg more than I remember. I am running 18 megs free so I assume I am still good there. any thoughts?

Im having issues with pocketbreeze. i will get weird lockups that will bring up the activesync screen. once i uninstall it, or disable it, the problems go away. I thought at first it was a wisbar problem, but i hard resetted, installed pocketbreeze by itself, and the problem started.
i have switched to SPB Diary for now. Seems to work just fine. Ill reinstall Wisbar tonight and see if any issues pop up. |

My Iguidance was crashing too when i go to full screen. Also, the screen didnt align properly once while I was driving after receiving a phone call. I cant map left and right soft keys to anything. I can map other keys though.
Where did you install (main memory) What version of iGuidance (3.00, upx'd - 3???k installed instead of 12???k) What kind of GPS unit, COM port, baud rate (Holux GPSlim 236, COM 6, Baud 38400) What keys are binded to what? (No keys binded)

Mike (or anyone, I hate to constantly bothering Mike)-
1. I will try to install on Vista later, although I remember with 2.2 it didn't seem to 'find' the phone properly.. 2. I just want to make sure this would work.. I install AKU 3.3. When it first boots I soft reset (before the extrom installs).. Then install your custom rom (from the 2.2 custom rom thread) and hard reset.. Then when it boots up (and auto-installs the extrom) I will have aku 3.3 with your custom extrom installed, and no junkware. Right? Thanks, ~g |

In regards to iGuidance
Where did you install: storage card* What version of iGuidance: 3.01 What kind of GPS unit, COM port, baud rate: Holux GPSlim 236, COM 4, Baud 38400 What keys are binded to what? - None (all default setup) I'll try to test this out later as I've only opened iGuidance and verified that it gets a GPS signal and I could move map, enter destination, etc... *I didn't actually install iGuidance after I installed AKU 3.3. Since it was completely installed on my storage card before (with AKU 2.2) and I didn't clear my storage card, it still seemed to work. BTW, I have always had iGuidance installed to the storage card and never had any adverse affects (even before the update). |

Is it reading anything(like maps) off the card? If so make shure there ok. Did you try running off storage card? Also i read that formatting Fat16(just Fat) may be faster, but Fat32 would be better for large files. |

What does this file do anyway? I searched my device using Resco Expl. and it didn't come up with anything with that name.
