Sprint AKU2.2 Beta 2.0, with or without Sprint ExtRom, with Telecom AKU2.2 Registry settings (copied with SPB backup): SD card works normally Exactly what I'm seeing. |

See... I told you I have been having SD card issues even on the Beta 1.0
![]() Which ROM version they tested. Alltel Beta 1.0 Sprint Beta 2.0 Which EXT ROM version they have. Custom based on latest Sprint Ext Rom (just deleted alot of things and changed the PRL to 20225) What programs installed on SD. None... Can't get anything to work long enough Did they reformatted their SD card to fat or fat16 or fat32. Ahh... So how many attempts should I type? Currently I'm on FAT32 formatted on the PPC by StorageTools. Prevoiusly (well sometime last night) was on FAT16 formatted with Resco I think I used last. Were programs re-install from scratch, or was any backup/restore program used? I never backup ![]() Did they upgrade with newest ROM & updates first? Oh yeah... Same day it was released (PPC Intel is a good news feed for that info... Well when my RSS reader worked (it's on the SD card ![]() So as it stands... I'm doing the standard check disk and defrag today. Just for good measure, and I'll hold off on buying a new SD card now. I have a bunch of regkeys I'll go and reverify from the Beta 1.0. And if I get desperate I'll reflash and do a registry dump and compair. But no promises there... Thats alot of work (ok... So I might if Mike thiks it will help). -MadManX |

Wow,
So after I updated the 1 registry change already mentioned in this thread: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS] "Flags"=dword:104 to 44, as mentioned by isamu49, my card now pops up immediately! Altogether seems worth the upgrade from the Telecom 2.2 version. |

Just a quick warning to those experiencing the SD problem (and perhaps just a good idea to all)
Back up your SD card to your computer. I have been experiencing the 8+ second delays on my 1gb Kingston miniSD. Then while using PIE last night I tried to open a web page and every thing slowed way down to the point where I couldn't even turn off the device. So I did a soft reset. Oddly enough when it booted back up it asked me to align the screen as though it was a hard reset, then I went through the usual 1st boot up screens and then the today screen looked as though it too had done a hard reset. I tried to run a program (don't remember which one) and it returned an error about finding the file. So I opened File Explorer and there were lots of extra folders and files many of which had HTML type names like a folder called "<a href=" and crazy stuff like that. So I did a hard reset and everything worked normally. Except for when I tried to use the SD card. There were corrupt files on it too. I put it in my PC's card reader and was able to recover about half the files on it, the rest contained bad data. |

Sprint 2.2 Beta 2 Which EXT ROM version they have. slimmed down custom based on Sprint 2.2 What programs installed on SD. non, but Windows Live Search is saving cache to SD Did they reformatted their SD card to fat or fat16 or fat32. I just used mine stock until I had my SD problems in the previous post, now it's been reformatted to FAT16 Were programs re-install from scratch, or was any backup/restore program used? Re-installed from scratch Did they upgrade with newest ROM & updates first? I upgraded from the stock 2.2 not the Beta1 I too just changed [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS] "Flags"=dword:104 to 44 as suggested and the SD card is up in about 2 seconds now! |

Decided to give 2.0 Advanced another try with the reg hack to fix the storage card. Unfortunatly it didnt work, but here's another tidbit of information, the Ext Rom also has trouble showing the modified rom data I entered into it. Same as the Memory card, cant seem to figure out what makes it show somtimes but not others.
Update: Thought maybe I had a brain fart and didnt actually reload the Ext Rom so I copied over the information again then did a soft reset. When I went back to the ext rom there was no data in it.... idk The Ext rom thing is still happening thought after reformatting my SQ card it does show up after a couple of seconds and a refresh of the screen. |
