IGuidance is NOT giving the upgrade to v4 away for free. I tried to get it and I had purchased my copy of IGuidance 1 month before the "cut off" date. Plus, I think the offer is over even if you happen to have purchased it within the designated "free upgrade" dates. I was a bit upset at them, but thats the way it goes I guess.

Problem with NOT vibrating!

Lots of folks have complained about the phone going into "Vibrate" mode.

I have a different problem: Any notification that has the "Vibrate" checkbox set does not vibrate, regardless of whether a sound is supposed to play or not. The only "Vibrate" that works for me is on "Phone: Incoming call", where I have selected "Vibrate then ring" selected.

Has anyone else seen this?

Try this reg entry edit:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip]
"DefaultIm"="{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}" - Regular Keyboard
to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip]
"DefaultIm"="{BB25F2EB-688C-4698-ADFC-F422A148AD4F}" - PCMKeyboard

WM6 help

I installed WM6 on my ppc-6700 (sprint) I was having the problem where I couldn’t see who was texting me so I did a hard restart then a soft restart right before the customization took place. It fixed the texting problem, now I can’t use the internet because it keeps trying to connect to #777 then it tells me that my user name and password is wrong. I did notice, by not letting it do the customization the “Current username” under device information is no longer there. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have been fighting my slow internet connection. I thought at first using jeff kirvins latest rom with internet sharing was the problem. I upgraded to Helmi's WM6. It had the original wmodem. I had the same problem.My internet tethering was really slow. I was getting ready to blame my computer. tonight i was getting ready to wipe out my computer and reinstall the operating system. I decided to go back to sprints latest oem rom. After going back there is a day and night difference. Now I have the same near DSL speed that I was use to. Good thing I didnt completely wipe out my computer.

Has anyone had any success with the Password lock problem? Our Exchange server policy requires a simple pin lock on the devices. Can't get around that. Whenever, I do a soft reset, the device is very sluggish afterward.

I have searched through the thread and the best thing I can find is to turn off the HTC Home. That solves the performance problems after a soft reset, however, IMO HTC Home is one of the best features of this ROM. I don't want to give that up either.

So does anyone know of another fix, that will allow the password lock feature and HTC Home to work?

Dialing *228 or whatever the activation number for sprint is, should fix this.

Sigh.

I gave up on WM6 for now. Helmi_c and many others have done an awesome job on this image, but there have been enough small issues that I had to move back to the AKU 3.5 Kitchen for a few months until the bugs get worked out.

The biggest problems for me with the current build:

1) Unreliable ActiveSync syncing with Outlook 2003.
2) Missed mail messages.
3) Problems connecting with Internet Sharing while Bluetooth is enabled.

Not all serious problems, but the unreliability of syncing is pretty bad - since this is my PDA, and I've already lost contacts and appointments on both my PC / XV6700 from this issue.

I will wait a few months for the dust to settle, and try again.

Thanks for the great work, guys!
