That's the point of hiding the extended ROM. When unlocked, the extended ROM only gives you about 9MB of free space. Also when unlocked, it becomes impossible to store attachments on the SD. Since the SD is much larger than the extended ROM, it's advisable to hide the latter to regain full SD functionality.

Oh, so you open it again if you want to install something to it and then close it up again?

Thanks for the WPA fix. This means I can use wifi again.

I always thought that WPA2 TKIP+AES was the way to go with WM6 but I guess I was wrong since I couldn't get that to work either.

BTW, downloading large apps causes the device to freeze. I never had any problems doing it with WM5 but on 6, it keeps on freezing.

I have an issue where my phone's screen needs aligned after a lot of use, like after playing solitaire or sudoku. If i don't really use it that much, it's fine, but after touching the screen several times repeatedly, I have to use the align screen or the screen taps become way off.

Problem with Garmin Mobile XT

Since I switched to the new Apache WM6 on my Alltel 6700 every thing runs fine except my icons from some of my installed applications wont come up in pocket plus after about three resets and my garmin mobile will only run after a reset. When I soft reset the phone I can start garmin with no problem over and over again. but after I use the phone for other things and then go back and start garmin I just get the busy circle. The circle stays on the screen until I press ok and then it just goes away and the program never starts. I have tried reloading the program, reloading the original version and hiding the ext_rom but nothing fixes the problems.

does anyone know what the cause may be?

AFAIK, once you hide it, you cannot access anything on it (as you discovered with Resco.) If you install a program to it and then hide it, I don't think you'll have any luck running the program.

Yeah, the sender name = the first word in the message. Example: If I receive a message that says "Hello there Jeff, how are you doing?" The person the sent the SMS is named "Hello" and If I type Reply, it fills in "Hello" as the recipient. We are not receiving the Text address of the person that is sending the SMS.

Actually, I hid it and the programs that are installed there are still working.
