WIFI Problems with WM6

Helmi,

I noticed that there are problems with using WPA-PSK on a lot of custom WM6 roms. There is a posted fix on the Dell x51v thread at xda. I am reposting it here. The original post shows in red where to edit WLANUtility.exe and iphlpapi.dll.

Same error exists in WLANUtility.exe and iphlpapi.dll library.
Official Dell A12 ROM also contains this error:

Problem with NOT vibrating!

Lots of folks have complained about the phone going into "Vibrate" mode.

I have a different problem: Any notification that has the "Vibrate" checkbox set does not vibrate, regardless of whether a sound is supposed to play or not. The only "Vibrate" that works for me is on "Phone: Incoming call", where I have selected "Vibrate then ring" selected.

Has anyone else seen this?

Try hard resetting your phone, and when it prompts that it is going to start the customization in 3 seconds, do a soft reset and see if that works.

Just a note, that all of the customizations for your carrier are built into the ROM (assuming you installed the correct one for your carrier)
This worked for me. Thanks. I"m still having issues with MMS but I'm TOTALY happy to have my txt msgs back

Working fine on mine so far..I miss a front screen battery meter so I tried to install Spb Mobile Shell 1.5. It installs fine but it interferes with HTC Home by putting itself above it on the today screen. When you go to settings to move it below it is greyed out. Gonna go look for the topbar batter meter now

So far so good. No bugs from what I can tell. I have not installed any of my own applications as of yet though.

no voice dialing & email memory issue

First, I have to say thanks and what an incredible job all around - even this newbie. middle-aged woman could upgrade with the instructions! I haven't had that much fun staying up all night like last night in years. Very exciting. Okay, I've had two issues. One I'm sure there's a program for - I'm missing the voice dialer. I believe I read someone else had that issue also. If this helps, following the flash I did not allow the Verizon customizations to install. My bigger problem is that my messaging is reading the extended rom as my storage card, and with the little memory there, is creating havic with my wireless sync. I recall someone else also experienced this, but I couldn't find the post. Any suggestions, etc. as to thse issues?

You will need to hide the ext rom, for it to use your regular sd card to save attachments.
To do that change this reg entry using a reg editor and soft reset.
hide ext rom
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000001

Voicedial was removed by helmi, personal pref (most users also), you will need MS Voice Command.

@heffman: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...3&postcount=17 for button 5 fix (voice command)
