Mobile 6 on XV6700! Using BT PAN now on Vista x64
I will be showing my appreciation soon after this post, I just completed the ROM update and I creamed my damn shorts!!! I was having so much trouble using my beloved XV6700 with my Vista x64, until now. Of course I did a soft reset B4 customization and I've had no trouble so far. I have fallen in love with my Apache all over again thanks to Helmi_c!!!

you may want to test this further. i know that on mine, when using smartdial from the today screen, the numbers are mapped according to the mogul keys vs. how they are laid out on the 6700 keyboard.

Thank you!! Works perfect now that I did not let it customize. Can you explain why the customization causes this error, and while we are talking about it - do I need the extended rom2 folder and it's contents?

I tried: adding the sender to my contacts and editing the name to reflect their real name and having the contact re-text me, still the same - shows the first word of the text as the From or Contact who sent the message. Saw the fix mentioned above and tried it today and it does work - Fantastic! Awesome! Over the Moon! Thanks again Team :O) You guys are awesome! Thank you =D> Last edited by Aquarius; 10-03-2007 at 11:52 PM. Reason: Found fix in post above and fix works - thank you :O) |

If you ran a generic ROM, you would need them, but then you would be using an extROM customization that wasn't designed to be used w/WM6. Oh, and as far as needing to keep the contents of extROM2, most people save it somewhere on the PC "just in case" and delete it. You then have approx 10Mb of space to play with as additional storage if you keep it unlocked and unhidden.

I've been using this WM6 for about a month and I noticed that the phone/os is becoming a bit less stable over time. The one real annoying bug is that after looking up an entry in the CONTACTS, if I select "Send a Text Message", the phone ignores my tap. I also see this behavior (of ignoring my taps) on the three boxes on the today screen that let me go into Text Messages, Email and Missed Calls.
Anyone else? Maybe I’ll backup my contact data and reload. Suggestions? -PH |
