crimsonlung - Please come to the chatroom sometime tomorrow when you have time. I'm not always there, but usually check in a few times a day.
At this point you should assume your phone is completely hosed... however, there's a chance that we can do something that might get it working again. I just don't want you to get your hopes up so just set your expectations low. If the phone is brand-new sealed you should definitely have some kind of warranty--if not from your carrier then through UTStarcom. Anyway, click the chat link above tomorrow and we'll see what we can do. |

Wonderful improvement to the functionality of the 6700. My only issue seems to be that I can't get Pocket Informant 2007 to work properly. The program opens up and appears to be fine...but won't let me make any changes at all--no new appointments--no completed or new tasks. Any ideas?

1) Put the phone in bootloader 2) Connect via USB 3) Right click on My Computer, choose Properties 4) Click on System, then on Device Manager 5) Find the entry related to the phone (if you can't find it, disconnect the phone, then reconnect) 6) Right-click on that entry and choose Uninstall Somehow, the phone rebooted and came up fine. If still no response, disconnect and reconnect again. If still no response, soft reset. If still none, take luv's advice and drop by the chat room.

Wish I Followed Directions...
I just signed up to say 2 things...
#1 - THANKS! Donation on it's way... #2 - Crimson - did you follow the directions on the first thread? I didn't do the hard reset at the end of the install (just pushed the reset button with the stylus) and my 6700 has locked up twice now, requiring a full re-install of the ROM (using the BootLoader). I just re-installed the WM6 ROM (for Sprint) and actually followed the instructions (left + right soft-keys, reset, "y"). I suspect that's what the problem is, and I also suspect that I will know by the end of the day tomorrow. So think back... did you do a hard reset? I'm curious who else ran into this little debacle. PS - WM6 = (when it's doing what it's supposed to) <flamesuit> [PPS - SWWWWEEEETTTT I started page 88 on my first post] </flamesuit> |

OS6 database is different from OS5

I did the same thing when this first came out. I had to go back to OS5, restore from previous backup, backup with PIMbackup, upgrade to OS6 again and finally restore with PIMbackup. I'm have issues with activesync, but if you're not you should be able to restore with that. Stronggeek |
