Do you know if its ok to flash this ROM on Vista? What about other ROMs? I would think it would be OK, because we always put the phone in bootloader mode, and I don't think the ROM flashing is dependent on ActiveSync at all. Please advise!

Thanks!

Worked fine from Vista for me.

You are currently stuck in bootloader mode, You will need the following link
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7049
(cant verify it will work in vista either, search for XP, or use virtual pc on ur computer to create XP, that is free)
Finally, when you flash, ensure that your phone is in bootloader mode.
Come to chat room if you need more help.
Sorry, yes, I meant WMDC. I'm still having trouble, though I found out that I had to pull my connector out until it read USB rather than Serial. I still can't get out of bootloader though (even with the program), and running the updater again gives me a 201 error. On XP, I also can't get it out of bootloader mode, and it gives me a 101 error.

Restart the device in boot mode, holding hte power button and hte record button while doing a soft reset, with it connected to computer. Then run the exe from your computer.

If I just have the 6700 running normally, plug it in, then run the updater, it detects my phone just fine and is ready to upgrade.

Am I creating a problem by NOT having the phone in bootloader mode? Just want to verify before I pull the trigger.

I am still having the same issue, I see that everyone else seem to be working so I wonder why a select few of us are having issues. Maybe there is a common theme. My boot loader is version 2.04. The last successful upgrade was using the Bell Mobility direct from the UTstarcom site. I can alway reinstall the Bell one just nothing else. I tried using kirvin rom just as a test and it also fails. Could there be something wrong with our bootloaders? Is it possible to install a newer, better bootloader?

Thanks

HTML Email issue

It appears that if you are not running exchange 2007 and using activesync to connect to exchange HTML emails will not work. Thx Microsux.

If you use pop3 or imap it is supposed to be working

Any idea about network time sync? I went into:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\Hidde nTimesyncPage

But the 1 i was expecting was already a 0, and it's not syncing with verizon for the time.

You can just go to SETTINGS --> PHONE --> SERVICE TAB

Hmmm your bootloader might be the problem. But try this, extract the bell ROM u used and extract the wm6 ROM you just downloaded. Replace all the RUU files in the WM6 folder with the files from the bell folder, then flash wm6. Come to chat room, so we can help easier.
