Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

It will work just fine. The codes are saved in a different section of memory than the rom, so they persist from rom to rom. The main reason you are having trouble is your dialer - change to a different dialer (if you know how), flash a different rom with a different dialer built in, build a kitchen rom, or flash any stock rom and you'll be able to follow the operators instructions.

Please note that this thread is really old, and the rom it refers to is quite out dated. Do yourself a favor and flash something newer.

Please refer to this link:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20492
This is WM6.1, the latest kitchen, which has the latest ROM. I have used it, and, what can I say, they made the last kitchen seem small, compared to what they did this time.
Highly recommended.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

So I had some problems. I went to install the update... Went into bootlegger mode, phone didn't really do anything to show me that it had... just restarted...

I ran the program, during the process the phone's backlight turned off. It says serial v 2.02. Activesync said the connection was lost, and then that the usb device was not recognized. Then I got a connection error from the install program. My phone won't come out of 'serial 2.02' even with a hard reset, and I can't install the program.

Certainly someone much greater and smarter than me can help me out?

Thanks a lot to helmi and anyone willing to help some fool out.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Ok..
When you first go to flash, you are supposed to hold the top left button on the side, as well as the power button. Hold (Both of them), and keep holding them in, while pressing the soft-reset with your stylus. Don't let go, of the power and record keys, but after you press in the stylus, remove the stylus from the port; don't let go of the other two keys, until you have completely removed the stylus. Your screen will turn black, and only in a good lighting, can you see the words "Serial".. Bootloader x.x..
This is when you plug your device in, and then you are done with the device, everything else is done on the computer. During this process, Activesync, is not even connected, or used. You won't see the device show as connected, on your computer. Your device first said Serial; if done correctly, you should now see USB Bootloader x.x...

If you are stuck, in bootloader, try the following:
Try to put it in bootloader, again, as if it wasn't already in bootloader. Do this by pressing both the power and record keys, in, and pressing with your stylus, the soft-reset port. (Follow the same instructions, as I gave before. Most commonly, I run into problems, if I don't keep the other two buttons pressed, before moving the stylus out of the soft-reset port.) It will reset, again. Now, after you do this, press the two soft-keys, and press in the soft-reset port, again, to perform a hard-reset.

Now, when the screen comes up, it should be white, and lit, saying Are you sure... Hit Y, for yes. Then hit your spacebar.
Now, once again, press the power and the record buttons, and keep them in, while pressing and removing the stylus from the reset port.
You should be all set to go.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Thank You all for the replies, I didn't knew how to downgrade so I went through the process again. The first time everything went ok, just that I didn't do the hard reset because the phone did it by itself so This time I did it before it booted by itself and know it got the codes and its running better than ever. Once again Thank you all =D>
