I am excited about firing you the Cricket ROM, and giving it a shot... I guess I need to do all of the things that I did to make the switch from Verizon to Cricket that I learned off of HowardForum. The only question that I have is where can I find the Original ROM from Verizon in case I need to reload?
Update: I decided to bite the bullet and do the install... Everything seems to working correctly, except that I cannot seem to connect to the internet. I am able to connect via the proxy just fine, but wifi seems to have a problem. Although the connection manager shows that I am connected to my wifi router, any time that I attempt to access a site, it fails. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Funny enough, I have always had problems with issues on my various Ipaq, which is why I would immediately dump WinCE and move to Linux on my PDA.... Last edited by kcallis; 11-28-2008 at 10:06 AM. Okay, I am a total Noob to this concept, but am so ready to upgrade my 6700. I found this thread, but I don't see the file to download? Also, I am on Verizon, how do I know which of the two ROM's I want.

THIS ROM IS VERY OLD, BUGGY, AND OUTDATED. YOUR DEVICE'S BOOTLOADER COULD BE TOO NEW FOR IT TO WORK. USE THE KTICHEN TO UPGRADE YOUR DEVICE TO WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1

Use the kitchen. You do not want to use this ROM it is very buggy and your device might not be suported if bootloader is not 1.02

Just finished the update to WM6.0 on my XV6700, only thing I cannot figure out is how to make a sound file my ringtone. With the original, I would just highlight it and one of the options was to "Set as Ringtone".... am I missing something???

Found the path..... windows/rings...... drag it from the SD card and good to go!!

Here is a link to download the Cricket ROM instead of using Rapidshare that doesn't let you download more than one thing at a time, and at a slow download speed as well. AND NO WAITING! http://drop.io/ApacheCricket

Use the kitchen. This ROM has SOO many bugs that it's not worth using. I also have a thead on ease-of-use for the kithcen.
